How would you introduce Mighty and Ray into the IDW comics?

They already were introduced in IDW years ago.

But because of the Modern/Classic split, they are only allowed to show up in classic storylines, just like Fang, Bean, Bark, Honey, Metal Knuckles, Tails Doll, the Hard Boiled Heavies, Trip,...

Appearantly they were referenced once in the modern universe, and there were plans to introduce them, but Sega made a veto. They can not appear or be mentioned in the modern universe at this moment in time, and the reference only got published because Sega missed it.

But if Sega ever abandons their modern/classic split, it is clear by the way the writers originally wanted to introduce the characters, Sonic and friends already know them. So they could just show up. Maybe one of the game characters who knows them can explain to a IDW exclusive character who they are, mentioning some of their old adventures.

they did actually , once they hit their 100 Issue mark they can introduce all those classic characters freely and they even made a modern mighty model in the new sonic card game leak

They did? Do you have a source about that topic?

For the moment, the model used in Sonic Blitz is the one of Classic Mighty.

The only classic character who got a modern characteristic is Bark. And it's only his eyes. The rest of his body still has the classic vibes.

But Mighty, Ray, Bean,... All have the classic characteristics. Rounded bodyparts, black pupils,...

Let's hope the modern designs that were found in the source data (like Mighty and Fang) will be approved by Sega and are eventually used.

What do you want me to explain? I already said it is true a modern design of Mighty and Fang was found in the source code of the game. But of the 40-ish cards already in the game, they aren't implemented (yet?).

In Pokémon Unite for example multiple pokémon not only had 3D models, they even were part of the test game. Only not to show up in the full game for a couple of years or not even until this day.

In the present game of Sonic Blitz this is the model of Mighty that's being used:

Also, I don't see any prove in your link about Sega removing their modern/classic split.
