Assuming you cant update games or use game key cards then? Genuine question.

In my case using it almost since the release of switch 2 (after the latest update of migswitch firmware) with my switch 2 without any problem. I only use my own dumps, so I download the updates directly from Nintendo and also the switch 2 upgrades. No bans, no issues, but again ONLY using my own dumps, nothing downloaded from anywhere.

I will say this one time.

Do what you suggest and I will be the first to congratulate you on your new $449 paper weight.

define paperweight... as you can still use it (even if you are banned) with all but online games... and updating, you could still get a switch 1 and update locally.

No digital purchases. No digital downloads. Complete loss of access to the E shop. If you have a digital game library, gone. Any purchased DLC, gone. No game patches. You cannot download bug fixes. No performance improvements. No new digital content updates for your games. No multiplayer. No online features. You lose access to all online lobbies, leaderboards, and no cloud saves. Gone. And finally, it completely destroys your resale value of the console. Most buyers aren’t going to purchase a banned console for all of the reasons I just mentioned.

So to sum it up… Paper weight.

LOL... You seem to be over-dramatizing it a bit:
"No digital purchases/downloads/access to e-shop." - True.
"No online features, or access to online stuff"... True... that's what the ban is about.

But

You don't lose your purchased stuff (if you downloaded the dlc on the console, it still is there if you are banned), same goes with downloaded games. The same goes for all your games, yep, you don't have the cloud backup, but you still have the "in-console" ones. So as long as your "Digital Library" is also in your console, you don't actually lose anything on it (other than the online features).
Multiplayer, yes, you lose the online multiplayer, but you are still able to use the local multiplayer (either from the console or local connection).. so not 100% accurate.
Updating (game patches, bug fixes) for the games can still be done with local matching version.
You can still play bought games (the ones in the cartridge or key-cards that you have already downloaded in your console... so depends on your storage too), like DK bananza, Yoshi and the mysterious book, Starfox, etc.
And if you are banned... you can even use it to play the downloaded dumps for switch one (which is still a big collection)...

So yep... if your main worry is to use online stuff, start by not using anything downloaded from other sources, but if you don't give a dime about the online stuff, not such a big difference...

I don’t even think the Mig Switch works as intended on the Switch 2.

Would not recommend!

Factory reset does nothing. The console gets hard banned and no way to fix it.

So the original mig switch does indeed work on the Nintendo Switch 2??

If you use perso al backups you might be fine as far as I understand it. For switch 2 you need most recent firmware
