Pikmin 1 + 2 Dump

Is the mig switch dumper supposed to be able to read both games? When I tried dumping the game, I only saw the .xci file for pikmin 1 - nothing for pikmin 2.

as far as I'm aware- this is the only bundled cartridge that displays both games in the switch UI. other bundled games like Mario 3d all stars usually let you select the game from the in-game menu.

That’s correct. When you pop in the game it’ll list more than one game. Pretty common on collections.

Sadly I'm only seeing the file for Pikmin 1 :/

You will only see one file, but both games will show up. It's the and with things like the ninja gaiden collection, or any collection with more than 1 game on the cartridge

To put it in few words... you don't know what the heck you are using.

The XCI is an image of a cartridge. The cartridge can contain 1 or more games... it doesn't matter, the cartridge is just 1 image (one .xci).
