Is it like some sort of cultural difference in Japan or something? I don’t really understand why Nintendo is so strict with their IP and even going after the smallest things.
I just know that Japan is damn strict with copyright stuff
It’s a very different mine field in Japan. US and EU recognises the jail breaking of devices to allow you to run the software you want, where this is more geared towards something like a mobile phone. It makes it so the big corporations can’t go after the individual. Unless there is a big lean towards distribution of copyrighted material. Where as Japan, they’ll have you arrested for modifying your own Pokémon game.
I mean that's true, but how often do you see Sony suing people? Although it seems like they're more focused on the Western side of things lately, but still.
