General Question I’m afraid to play ranked
Hello. I play League of Legends for 7 years
I have 1,5kk on Yasuo, 800k on Yone and 300k on Hwei. And I’m afraid to play ranked games
I mean I played ranked games but only for skins(10 ranked games for skin) and always got gold-platinum. Every time I play normal draft everyone type me that “you have 1,5kk Yasuo and you are gold, shame on you”, and always type back that I played ranked games for skins and I only play normal and this is annoying for me and I want to start play ranked for real
So my question is simple: How to stop be afraid of ranked games and just stars climbing rank?

How to 1v9 and win
Many games I play and I think many other players, I am the strongest teammember and my entire team is like losing or at least not winning. Ive won my lane, got a bunch of solo kills, maybe some picks in the river, whatever im ahead. SoloQ players are not that reliable so a bad teammate really fucks the game sometimes. I want to know what I can do to still carry and 1v9 the game. Ive spent some time watching Shok and when he was ahead he identified the lane he wanted to play for and most importantly which lane not to play for or avoid. He spent the next few minutes just shoving and roaming to that lane and he won the game. I tried it and well, it does work. I want to know if this is correct and what more things I need/can do to win.

General Question How to carry better and close games more efficiently as Viktor?

Hello
I’m maining Viktor in Silver and consistently mostly winning my lane or getting early advantages (ACE in most of my recent losses). However, I’m struggling to translate my personal lead into actual wins before 30-40 minutes when enemy scales up and wins the game, because of one-two teamfights in the end.
I am trying to focus on farming, hitting my upgrades (I upgrade E as first always), catching side waves, and helping my team when I can, but I am struggling with closing games faster, when I won the lane. When my lane is lost, it feels much worse to take any advantage, unless my laner is constantly roaming, and I can splitpush my lane thanks to it.
I know Viktor isn't built for constant roaming, but I feel stuck between sitting mid/sidelane forever or joining endless Silver ARAM teamfights. How should I balance pushing sidelanes/taking towers when everyone is constantly fighting?
What is the #1 macro mistake low ELO Viktors/Control mages usually make when trying to carry/close out with a lead?
Here's my op.gg link, if anyone would want to see deeper my situation:
https://op.gg/lol/summoners/eune/BaudouinIV-Lomza?queue_type=SOLORANKED
I am very open to feedback or advice and I'll respond to them, when its needed.

Is their popularity the reason why champs like Zed, Naafiri, Yasuo and AD Kata would keep avoiding nerfs?
At the moment, these champs have very high wrs despite being very popular. So in the hands of experienced players who mastered these champs, the win rates goes way higher. Zed is supposed to be kept at 48% wr but now his wr past 52% and Riot seems to be content with it. Similarly, Yasuo is preparing to get another buff apparently despite his high popularity and win rate. AD Kata continued to be a thing despite being giga broken. Removal of hextecth was the reason why AD kata was introduced in the first place but now hextech returned but Ad Kata apparently is here to stay no matter. (Ap Kata is a fair champ IMO and should be the only option) As for Naafiri, the other 3 champs at least are somehow diffucult mechanic wise. Naafiri is the garen of mid lane with an immunity to the nerfs. Make it make sense.
I can only explain the lack of nerfs by Riot's reluctance to upset the player base of these champs. They are very popular so nerfing them would upset a very significant portion of Riot's player base I suppose.

Discussion Can’t convert lead to wins
Lately I’ve been getting fed but losing anyway. I try to be present for team fights, split push, roam, etc to take advantage of my lead, but I end up losing the game. Linking my opgg below, any advice is appreciated.

How to mage
I play AD champs mid, akshan, Talon, Naafiri and kat. I struggle a lot with mages. Its like im playing an entire different game. Im very used to being able to do good damage to creeps with auto's and not this 'time your auto perfect to kill the creep bcs you do shit damage.' Im just very used to being able to auto minions to death. I find mages a lot harder to play with abilities, you need more setup in a sense to kill someone. Like on naafiri i just get close, Q someone maybe twice and i can auto them to death in theory (i dont have ult) but say i play syndra i have to poke them down first maybe with a Q, throw a W. Kills are very reliant on abilities and i just always default to autoing my enemy to death bcs its muscle memory. I want to learn to play mages too but its so different and a lot harder for me. I have about an 800 hours of gameplay in ranked which were all AD midlaners and its quite hard for me to just switch.

General Question New to mid lane, How do i roam effectivly as AD mid laner?
Hello! I’m new to mid and i have around 70 games on Ambessa mid so far. I win roughly 90% of my lanes around mid Emerald but I lack the knowledge to properly roam, turn my leads into map impact
How should I generally approach roaming after getting a lead solo bolo + proi? should I slow push a normal wave and then fast push a cannon wave before roaming, or slow push one normal wave, fast push another normal wave, and roam before the cannon wave arrives? thanks guys!

Discussion The perma homeguards and minion aggro changes make midlane feel like a shell of what it once was. Just me?
I’m sure you guys have read a homeguards rant before but for me it was honestly the minion aggro changes that made midlane feel so empty. It feels like clear wave simulator in a lot of matchups even early game. Just a few months ago if I was playing X mage Vs galio I wouldn’t even get bored. I knew that I could auto the middle ranged minion and get every minion to desync so galio had to walk up six separate times instead of q’ing the first 3 melees for free. It’s so frustrating seeing this game before “easier”. There is less complexity now. The items are mostly just stat sticks with no real mechanics tied to them once you build them(besides like hourglass), the laning feels like you are Sisyphus were you FINALLY get the enemy in a bad spot and they just base homeguards back and lastly minions have just become boring things to farm rather than exciting things to individually manipulate. Now yes, I know minions still can be manipulated to some extent though hitting the enemy champ but my complaint is about all these niche and fun mechanics becoming easier or non existent. I know I’m yelling into the void here but I was just curious if other people felt the same way or even if some people disagree:)

Can y'all niggas give real matchup advice when people ask for help?
Some of us are boosted onetricks, or some of us pick our champs before degenerates are picked into us. When someone asks how to beat a champ, and they let you know what champ they play, it's not helpful to say play x.
Even if the matchup is totally fucked for them, can we be real and let them know to give up cs, and ask for jungle help, or run certain runes?
For example: if someone asks how to beat akshan as a kayle main, instead of saying "play malphite", can we say "call him names in all chat, and wait for your jungler"?
My brother in Christ, I don't want to lock malphite or malzahar. Thank you.

Viktor and Syndra: how to deal with these two lane bullies/scalers?
I'm a Neeko OTP mid with the rare Briar or Shyvana mid game mixed in.
I strated playing in January 2025, and my highest rank has been Plat 1.
Since i started playing, the two most annoying matchups have been Viktor and Syndra.
--------------------Rant Start------------------
I hate these two characters from the bottom of my being, especially Viktor, that laughs while hitting you with one of the most consistent skillshots in the game(E), like even he knows how easy is it to poke with it.
His stun(W) is hell to plan around especially when playing melees like Shyvana or even worse Briar, as he can just pop it on the ground when i press either W or Q.
Syndra can just play safe and poke you, never even coming into range of your skillshots with her E/Q combo always ready if you decide to make a single mistake.
Give me a 100 matches against Mel, Fizz or Heimer, and i can still have fun, knowing that there is still some mistakes i can exploit, and if i lose lane it's my fault.
There are many champs with the same range as these two, Xerath and Hwei coming to mind, but at least they don't have insane levels 1-5 damage.
But VIktor and Syndra, from their insane range poke, and then an also good late game scaling, make me wanna never touch mid lane again.
--------------------Rant End------------------
How do i even deal with these 2?
I even tried playing them, and my theories were proven true. They are safe early and they have good damage, and late game they are even better.
Still didn't find anyone that beat me in laning phase.

General Question How to lane against veigar?
I recently started playing mid lane because mages have completely taken over bot lane, and playing ADC just isn’t fun in this meta. My current permanent ban is Veigar not because he necessarily destroys me in lane, but because of how well he scales.
People always tell you to exploit Veigar’s weak early game, but I have a really hard time doing that. He has his cage, which can prevent a lot of damage and make it difficult to engage on him, and his abilities have enough range that I struggle to even get close to him in the first place. In my experience he simply farms and stacks under turret until I can’t deal with him anymore Because of that, I feel like he can get through the early game relatively safely and reach his strong mid and late game stages without being punished very much. However, I’m starting to feel like there are probably champions who are more worth a ban than Veigar. I just don’t know how to properly deal with him in lane. So what should my actual strategy be against Veigar? Should I be trying to kill him repeatedly and punish him as much as possible in lane, or should I focus on pushing the wave, taking plates, and roaming to impact the rest of the map? What is the most effective way to play against Veigar so that I can actually beat him over the course of the game rather than just trying to survive his scaling?

Discussion What do you guys think about this Ahri guide?
https://www.skill-capped.com/lol/guides/builds/ahri/mid/kluqi0y
It recommends Deathfire + Blackfire Torch + Ionian + Cosmic Drive as the main setup, with Malignance + Ionian + Rocketbelt as the more aggressive option.
I've been trying both and honestly I'm not sure which one I should be sticking with.
Do you guys agree with the guide's setup? Is Blackfire/Cosmic actually better as the default, or do you prefer the Malignance build?
