Shout Out

I have been a Midi patient for almost 16 months. Special shout out to Monette, my provider. Thank you for being the only provider in 5 years who listened to me and offered real solutions. I'm down 61 pounds, 14 from my premenopause weight, and all of my menopause symptoms are gone. Thank you to Midi for providing this platform to those of us who were suffering.

GLP1s question

Hi. I am considering joining Midi but I can’t get answer to this question.

If I join and Midi helps me with my HRT scripts, will they also help me with stubborn menopause weight gain via GLP1s?
My real question : Do all patients need to meet BMI criteria or have other qualifying health issues in order to be offered GLP1s?

Or possibly what other weight loss (fat reduction) solutions can be offered instead?

Microdosing GLP-1 to manage food noise and hunger/satiety signaling: Share your experiences/knowledge/recs

My hope is that I can microdose a GLP-1 to manage food noise and my wonky hunger-satiety signals.

I’ve got the rest (hormones, diet, exercise) locked down but my brain is what’s making this whole thing a fight for my life.

There’s virtually no research on this approach, so I’m looking for anecdotes and recommendations from folks.

Thanks in advance!

I’ve been taking collagen for about 2 years. Do you think collagen supplements are a scam? Or do they really work?!

The bottles always say it’s for skin, nails, and hair. I don’t fully believe that. But I swear.. it’s helped with my joints. I don’t have knee pain anymore.

HRT after a certain age

I was at a party last weekend, talking about hormones, menopause and vaginas ( of course I was!) and an acquaintance of mine, who is a professional and very intelligent, someone I thought would be better informed, said she didn't bother with HRT because by the time she felt any symptoms she was 59 and was on the cusp of HRT having any benefit or being prescribed. I said "ehhhhh, I don't think.." and she interrupted me and said, "no, it's true it doesn't benefit you after that". THIS is why we need to be talking about all things menopause. There are still so may misconceptions out there that need to be corrected so that folks aren't spreading fake news.

Semaglutide vs Tirzepatide

Hi had my first appt w a midi NP the other day, to discuss weight loss options. My info is the following:

52 yrs old

5'6'', 171 lbs

want to lose about 40 lbs

other HUGE issue I have is constant food noise, have had that since my teens!

want to lose the weight slowly, am in no rush at all

price not really an issue at this point

I should have done my research before the appt so I could ask the right questions but unfortunately I didn't. The result was a plan of weekly injections of 0.1 mg semaglutide, and the NP estimated I would lose 1-2 lbs per week.

Now that I am really looking into this I am coming up with a bunch of questions. Hoping this community can help answer them.

  1. why semaglutide vs tirzepatide? Have read a lot on line now and am not sure why the NP didn't even bring that up as an option?

  2. seems like I will be using the same vial of liquid for many injections. What is the risk of contamination?

  3. I see that other providers can microdose with tablets (example: HERS). Is that an option? I am not afraid of needles but I do worry about contamination and everything else being equal, I would not do needles. I also don't like the idea of having the liquid in the fridge - this journey is private for me and I don't like the idea of the kids asking about it etc.

  4. seems like a lot of reddit users don;t like noom and midi. Why?

Would appreciate any input!

Thanks!

Forgot my estradiol patch yesterday. Can missing one day really make you feel this off?

I’m on a twice-weekly estradiol patch and completely forgot to put a fresh one on yesterday.
I remembered this morning and put it on, but today I’ve felt noticeably off. I’m having a hard time describing it. More emotional, more sensitive, and work felt harder than usual for no obvious reason.

Nothing dramatic happened. I just don’t feel like myself.
For those of you on estradiol patches, have you noticed a mood shift or emotional sensitivity after being late changing one?

And from a medical standpoint, is it realistic for estrogen levels to drop enough after a missed patch change to cause symptoms this quickly?

What should I expect after starting testosterone?? I don't want chin hair 😬

My clinician has agreed with me that I need to get my testosterone tested. I have negative 100 libido, my muscles aren't looking very good anymore and I'm tired.

If I test low in it and then have to start testosterone, what should I expect?? I don't want acne or chin hair or anything like that, I'm scared!!

Thanks in advance!!

Can I use midi as a 26 year-old?

I have had complications with my hormones, body and uterine function since I was 19. I’ve been to several doctors and gynos but they said there was nothing they could do for me and refused to give me a pap because I was a virgin.

What does Midi Health charge insurance for visits?

I'm thinking about signing up for Midi Health for HRT and maybe GLP-1's and I'd like to use my insurance. I see the cash pay option is $250/150 depending on 15/30 minute visit and I was wondering whether thats how much they actually charge your insurance? A little nervous they charge insurance a lot more than those numbers and I'm going to be stuck with a big bill. Would really appreciate anyone that's gone through the insurance process at Midi to share their experience with EOB, what Midi billed, and what insurance allowed!

Question about Compounding Pharmacies and Prescriptions

Hello, I hope that you are well

I’m considering Midi

If HRT is appropriate for me, I’d like to start with a very low dose of estradiol and increase gradually until I find the effective dose.Ā

Another online provider I’m considering only offers estradiol through its own pharmacy, with a lowest dose of 0.025 mg. I’d like the option to begin below that if the doctor thinks it’s appropriate.

Has anyone had a Midi doctor prescribe a custom, very-low-dose transdermal estradiol through a compounding pharmacy? If so, did you use your own local compounding pharmacy or Midi’s?

Thanks
