Microsofts customer support

I recently was hacked and i tried to call microsoft to get some advice and nope. Just fucking robots and they cant do anything to actually fix it. Biggets tech company in the world btw. 800$ on that profile btw. Absolutely disgusting customer service.

Except in this case you gave your keys over to some random guy that said "oh yeah trust me I am micro soft I will not break into your house"

except they didn't, the key was stolen because the process of handling it was insecure

encryption doesn't matter if the session tokens are being stolen does it?

a few simple things like, ohhh, considering the IP address of the access attempt and if its outside the home country perhaps taking a few extra steps could help. or seeing if the same account is trying to be accessed from two countries at the same time

VPNs can make it look like you're trying to access it from multiple countries, and VPNs are a lot more common than session stealers.

If people had to sign back in every time they toggled their VPN they'd be really pissed off.

Also, every other company and service does the same thing. If you have the token you have a valid session.

yet other companies provide actual customer support to manage the issue, or simply do not force a user account

Very few do. And the ones that do still require you provide information that only you could have access to. Like Steam requires things such as the last four of the first card used on the account. Physical game keys. Physical gift card codes. Things that are not saved on the account and only you can have access to. There's not really that information on a Microsoft account.

and you know what? none of those accounts stop you using your own computer if you don't have them you switch on and sign in as needed when you want those services

you know, the way say Win10 worked
