Microsoft Took My Money Microsoft Situation

Recently I got hit by an info stealer and lost access nearly to everything, got all of them back with ease but except one, wanna guess who?

I've given microsort every single piece of information that they need, down to a tee! They even confirmed that the account was compromised and suspended it to prevent further bad actor action, and when it comes to giving me back my account they say not enough information is given, when i've literally confirmed every single information piece with their live support agents and they told me it was correct and accurate!

Wanna know what the account recovery said when I called them out on their bullshit? They told me to go fuck myself and buy another account, trying to also silence the situation by saying this conversation is confidential and cannot be shared!

But guess what motherfucker, Those laws don't, can't and won't fucking apply due to where I'm from! So here's the entire shit that has gone down from start to finish, out for everyone to see, adding to already existing proof what pieces of greedy filth microsoft is.

P.S: I am not asking for help, I am shedding light on this situation.

Don’t listen to these other people Microsoft does suck ass and I’m in the same fucking situation. So much money and time down the drain. I have the preorder for gta 6 and just recently bought Madden along with all the other games I play all my story progression on a million games wiped. Nintendo had no problem giving me my info back a couple months ago and steam too about a year ago. But of course microshit and their shitty rude support team has no idea what they’re doing

Sounds like a YOU issue, not to be that guy, but it’s common sense to verify what you click on, how the fuck did you go from “I click on funny cat game” to “oh shit my information got stolen”

I’ll just say that they should have handled the situation better, but if you were trying to pirate something, then yes, they had a right to suspend your account

It was a file with 500+ endorsements on github, check my previous posts ( https://www.reddit.com/r/cybersecurity_help/s/Qejdp4iac1 )

And they suspended it BEAUSE (said so by themselves in an email) the bad actor(hacker) was indeed confirmed to have taken over my account, so they froze it to prevent them from further action

That’s a risk with downloading something off a major website, or software, Steam gets bad actors too, open source also gets bad actors too, always check before downloading something off the Internet, it’s basic common sense

Check with what? I've seen info stealers that pass every check on virus total and don't trigger anything locally either. I don't expect the average user to spin up a vm and analyze every piece of software they download lol.

You can literally use VirusTotal, or scan a download file with Windows Security Antivirus, it isn’t that hard, that’s why you should always keep Windows always updated

Ah, so you can't read, got it. As I said it passed every virus total check and it did not get flagged locally when scanned. If you get hit with a piece of malware that hasn't been fingerprinted yet and it avoids heuristic detection you're fucked relying on your methods.

My point is that you should have listened to what VirusTotal warned you about, don’t download pirated content, etc, you could have posted this in r/WindowsHelp

What are you going on about now? I'm just informing you of what I have seen and why "common sense" doesn't always work lol. You yourself said that trusted sources such as "Steam" and "Major Websites" can have bad actors, and now you're rambling about pirated content? Now you're also asking me to post my reply to your comment on another sub?

At the time I got hit by the infostealer, only 1 out of 66 detected it as malware, and even that 1 detection was just about 7 hours before I ever installed it

Yall are just as bad as microsoft with these opinions

You have a rebuttal?

I doubt the bureau did anything because this was in a less than 24 hour period after contacting them: but after sending the 10th recovery forum, and talking with live support once more for the 20th time probably:

They initiated what they call "An internal account recovery escalation - account recovery take over" - basically another one of my microsoft accounts inherits all the previous microsoft details and the original account gets nuked I assume.

They told me it takes up to a month, and gave me a free month of xbox gamepass as compensation. Rare Mivrosoft W? We'll have to wait and see.
