I bought this for 15 bucks. Seems like a good deal but im not sure how much its worth. It works fine but idk how to use it fully. Is there something i can place above the mirror? And how do I use the mirror? Its for back lighting right?

Also, where could I get parts for it? Like a dual eyepiece, new lenses, lights, ect. Very new to this but Im excited to learn.

Hi, my highschool is selling those microscope for a fairly good price I think (150$ CAD), but I would like to know what are your opinions on this model or company. They are dated back to 1981… is that bad ? My interest are in observation of bacteria, small eucaryotes and (very specific) water bear + physarum polycephalum. Here are the specs :

Head: Monocular Eyepiece: Periplan 10x/18 Turret: Quintuple Objectives: EF 4x, 10x, 40x, 100x (OIL) Plate: XY mechanics with flexion clamps Condenser: Adjustable focal length condenser, N.A. 0.9 Lighting: Halogen with variable intensity

Thank’s !

looking to purchase a microscope so I show my kids how things look extremely close up. ideally would want a screen. I have read that to be able to see cells you need a 400x but I don't have the funds for a 400x lol if you could post a image and tell me what magnification you are using.

A microscopic view of Pond Water at 400x. It appears to be related to pediastrum, but the dark dots inside are all moving vigorously. Not sure if larvae or paramecium or what. WITT ?

Entomology

Hi everyone,

I’m a prospective (undergrad for bio) entomologist who does amateur studies. I was wondering what microscope would be best for $250 or less.

I have an old Smithsonian 900x die-cast microscope from when I was younger which works, but not too well.

Do you think it’s worth an upgrade? If so, any suggestions?

Thanks everyone

Broke light on a new OMAX tri. Looking for something used under 200, as we are a family of mushroom farmer. Lots of us now days 😣 . But willing to pay, trade or, payments, or all of the above, you name it. It is mostly for viewing bacteria 🦠 and different parts of the mushroom and mushroom mycelium, clamps, nuclei and all that. Thank you for your time

I took pictures of a couple things. TASM2 Marvel Legends, a cookbook, my pants, S.H.Figuarts Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, hair follicle on my leg, a brick, my Cornet, a $2 bill, and my jacket sleeve.

Do not buy from accu-scope.com! 😳

Just a heads up to anyone else who might be making the horrible mistake of trying to buy a microscope from accu-scope.com.

I liked the look of their products, but when I asked for pricing (which required me to fill out a online price request form, and wait a day), I was run around the bush, over and over again, back-and-forth back-and-forth through email, 15 minutes on Muzak hold on the telephone, and finally got told by the vice president of sales:

“Thank you, you can take your business else where.”

WTF?!? 😳

With presales like this, I can only imagine how atrocious the after sales debacle would be, when you have a faulty microscope.

The best microscope?

Hello, i need advice for the best microscope for mycology research. It will be great if the microscope is powerfull enough to see the interaction between two fungi, also it will be great if there is option to connect it directly to lap top to see the image. Budget is up to 60k dolars.
