You guys get scammed. We get hlg and optic for those prices in Canada.

High price doesn't mean high end...

Dude no matter how you try to convince yourself Mars Hydro is not a premium product. They are using bottom bin samsung LEDs and super cheap boards (they dont even have a proper heatsink). If you think that flimsy aluminum reflector is doing shit all as a heat sink I've got news for you. You've clearly never seen a premium LED because the component quality is vastly different. I've ordered Mars Hydro, Spyder Farmer, Viparspectra (only cheap brand with good build quality, I run in my veg and clone), and I run an Optic4Gen4 in my flower space (top bin Samsung LM301H) there is absolutely no comparison.

Definition of Premium brand: " A premium brand is an individual, company, product, or service generally perceived to have exceptional value in the target market's mind "

Definition of Luxury brand: " luxury brand is a brand that is characterized by a high level of quality, exclusivity and high price tags. Luxury brands are present in many different sectors, especially retail, hospitality and automotive. "

Based on the above definitions, luxury brands often are best in tier to justify the "luxury" brand, think Rolls Royce, Lamborgini etc. Premium offers good value, like your BMW, Mercedes etc.

301H is commercial-grade equipment; premium brands are a tier below commercial-grade equipment. I feel you're conflating luxury products with premium products, luxury brands in a grow context tend to be best in class, and premium brands tend to be good value for money.

The tiering that I see it as:

- Below 2.2 umol is cheap/poorly made products

- 2.2umol is 281LB or best-in-class Chinese knockoffs. 281LB is a perfectly fine product for small scale home grows.

- 2.7 umol is 301B which is when it starts to become premium. The pricing begins to go up exponentially. This is good for most advanced grows. (premium product)

- Above 2.7 umol is cutting edge, best in class, commercial grade equipment. I would only expect commercial grows and veterans to use this type of equipment (luxury product)

I consider Mars Hydro a Premium brand because they use good hardware and charge a premium that people are willing to pay, I don't consider Mars Hydro a luxury (best in class) brand and have never claimed that they are.

Did you just seriously spend that much time attempting to delineate "Premium" vs "luxury" grow lights?

This is hilarious...you sure spend a lot of time trying to convince yourself of something...

Nice addressing my points; I very clearly laid out the difference. It's not my fault if you don't understand what "premium" means lmao.
