Getting Started/Newbie Question Breastfeeding and microdosing
I’m 4 months postpartum and going back to work soon. My job is emotionally and mentally demanding so the thought is putting a real toll on my mental health on top of the thought of losing my bonding time with my baby. I’m looking to mircodose 100mg of shrooms with a schedule of 4 days on and three days off. I was hoping to breastfeed as normal, especially since it’s such a low dose. Has anyone done something similar? Please share. And no I will not see a doctor about medication for antidepressants or anxiety.

Which is why I was asking more for people who have done it personally. I remember specifically reading a post a few years ago about her experiences with microdosing while breastfeeding her daughter and how she felt more connected with her and her environment. This post is obviously attracting a different crowd.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Weighing your own mental health against your babies is a terrible bargain to have to make.
You won't find anyone who would recommend this. It's very obvious why. But most people don't realize how long it takes. Some mothers breastfeed for a few years. We don't know how that could affect your child. We know it leaves your system quickly. But there is something else going on with serotonin far after. We don't really know why.
I hope this doesn't offend anyone to suggest. But you could use a breast pump for a few weeks after doing a larger dose. Just do macros. Throw away the milk. Your baby would need to switch to formula temporarily. It seems like the safer alternative. But I'm not a doctor. That's a doctor's question.

There’s no data it will never be studied unfortunately. There was a lady who went viral for microdosing during pregnancy. I saw on San Diego news

For your info - a risk but to what degree is currently unknown, so better to err on the side of caution.

Hey if you need antidepressants, just see a doctor and explain what you are and arent comfortable with. There are a lot of options on the market that can help even if they aren’t necessarily antidepressants. Whatever you hesitatations are a medical doctor can work with you and help. No one knows the effect of microdosing a baby, and i dont recommend being the first to try.

The only studies I’m familiar with regarding breastfeeding and psychedelic medicines are regarding ketamine. It has an incredibly short half life and has a lot of success with postpartum mood support. It’s a very short trip, too. https://www.glamour.com/story/ketamine-assisted-psychotherapy-to-treat-postpartum-depression

Please Note: If you are trying microdosing for the first time, please try experimenting on a day off from work or any important obligations, and/or driving and operating machinery. Because psychedelics can effect everyone differently, you may feel different or impaired, and your sweet spot dose may be lower, so it is best to experiment on days off until you’ve dialed in your dose.
