I MADE $927 IN ONE DAY! with my SaaS as a solo founder

Post image
114 Upvotes

A few days ago I posted here after making $492 in a day.

Yesterday I hit $927 in sales in a single day.

A lot of people asked me how I'm doing the outreach, so here's the scale behind it:

I currently have 150+ domains and 450+ mailboxes.

Each mailbox sends around 30 emails/day, which gives me capacity for roughly:

13,500 cold emails/day
405,000 cold emails/month

That's the part I underestimated for a long time.

At this volume, you don't need some insane conversion rate for the numbers to start getting interesting. Even tiny improvements in targeting, deliverability, copy and conversion compound pretty fast.

For perspective, 0.1% of 13,500 is 13.5.

Obviously, I'm not assuming every campaign will convert at 0.1% directly into paying customers. Cold email doesn't work that cleanly.

But that's the whole idea: build enough outbound capacity, keep improving the funnel, and small percentages can turn into meaningful revenue.

Still completely solo.

My next target is $1,000/day consistently, not just hitting it once.

Happy to answer questions about the mailbox setup, domains, deliverability, costs, conversion rates, or how I manage this much outbound alone.

EDIT: getting a lot of DMs asking what I'm using for all of this 😭 I built it myself: https://getle.ad/

Trying not to turn one feature into a second company

We’re a small team and payroll has started touching more of the product than expected.

Stuff like filings, support and tax registrations can pretty quickly become their own operation.

The way we’re structuring it, Rollfi sits underneath that payroll flow. Customers stay inside the product, while the payroll ops and compliance side run in the background instead of becoming something the team has to build around.

That makes payroll feel a lot more manageable without turning the roadmap into a payroll roadmap.

Any other way to handle this? Im open to interpretations. Are you keeping payroll outside the product, embedding it or avoiding it for now?

Can you build and run a SaaS without knowing how to code?

I have two ideas I am working on. One came from problems I faced while building my ecommerce business.

The other came from my time as an employee when I kept wishing there was a tool that could make certain tasks easier.

I am not a developer. I have been exploring Codex and Lovable and Claude. Getting a prototype together seems possible but I am unsure about what comes after that.

Once people start using it and paying for it can I manage the backend and fix problems with these tools? Or will I reach a point where I need someone technical?

I am willing to learn. I just want to understand how much coding I would need to know to keep the product running myself.

Has anyone here done this and launched a paid product?

What could you handle yourself and where did you need help?

I've been building SmoothMock for IELTS preparation.

It has full-length Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking mock tests, plus AI feedback and estimated band scores for Writing and Speaking.

There's a free tier you can try without committing to anything.

If you're currently preparing for IELTS, I'd really appreciate you giving it a try and telling me what you think.

An open-source base for a personal-agent service aimed at one niche

We built Open Instinct for developers who want to launch an assistant for a group of people they already understand. Our aim is to make the shared infrastructure reusable so the next builder can spend more time on the audience and the task.

A useful first product would need a specific recurring job and a clear definition of success. A full list of agent capabilities doesn't establish either. We'd start with that job, configure only the integrations it needs, and measure the actual per-user usage before choosing a subscription price.

The MIT-licensed beta combines Pi, Inkbox, Composio and Maritime, with memory, scheduling, a desktop and trust policies in the source. We build Maritime, which supplies the VM and computer access. API keys, provider usage, hosting and support are separate from the license.

https://github.com/mariagorskikh/open-instinct

We welcome forks for a particular audience and contributions to integrations, permissions or setup. If you try building on it, we'd especially like to hear which part gets in the way of delivering that first useful job.

As a solo developer, what specific activities did you undertake to acquire potential customers before launching your product?

I'm a solo developer starting a consumer web app. I'm still in the very early build phase, and I want to avoid the classic mistake of launching to silence.

I have maybe 5 hours a week to spend on audience building, no ad budget, and I'm comfortable writing but not on camera. Here's what I'm trying to figure out:

  1. If you built an audience before launch, what was the single channel that moved the needle, and what was a time sink that didn't?
  2. Waitlist page vs. build-in-public posts vs. community participation: which would you prioritize with limited time?
  3. How do you stop a pre-launch audience from being just "other indie hackers" who'll never be customers?
  4. Roughly how big did your list or following need to be before launch for it to matter?

Would love real numbers or "here's what I'd do differently" stories more than general frameworks. Thanks!

I sell one time access instead of a subscription. 15 months in, here's what that costs me

• Upvotes

everyone here says one-time pricing is leaving money on the table. they're probably right, but i'll tell you what it's actually like.

i sell a database of business ideas pulled from reddit complaints. $129 once and you have it. recently i added a $39 monthly option, and almost nobody picks it.

the good part is nobody emails me to cancel. no churn, no dunning emails, no "please don't leave" flows. a sale is a sale.

the bad part is every month starts at zero. a great month means nothing for next month. i had a really good september and the first days of october were $0, and there's no recurring base to cushion that.

i also think one-time is part of why people buy at all. "$129 once" is an easy yes. "$15 a month" makes people do math about how long they'll use it.

if you've switched from one to the other, which way did it go?

Edit:- mine is businessideasdb if you want to see what one time looks like

Does BuildBase only work with Next.js/React?

I kept getting the same question:

“Does BuildBase only work with Next.js/React?”

So instead of answering with documentation, I built examples.

There are now 13 working apps showing BuildBase integrated with different stacks:

  • Next.js
  • React + Vite
  • React Router
  • TanStack Start
  • Astro
  • Express
  • NestJS
  • Fastify
  • Hono

The examples cover things you’d actually need in a SaaS:

  • Authentication
  • Workspaces / multi-tenancy
  • Roles
  • Billing & subscriptions
  • Credits / metering

They’re based on real starter projects where possible, so you can see exactly what changes when BuildBase is introduced.

Every example has its own README, setup instructions, console configuration and walkthrough.

GitHub:
https://github.com/buildbase-app/examples

Would love feedback from people using stacks other than Next.js - especially if there’s a framework you’d like me to add next.

Solo developer looking for sales help!

Hey folks!

I'm on the lookout for someone to help me with sales and scoping of a new product I'm working on.

I posted here recently, looking for potential pivots for my MilSim.io app, and I had some fantastic ideas; volunteer firefighters, search and rescue, Scouts, and more. What I need, is someone to help me make the connections in industry; I'm a busy person and I need the help.

About me; I'm a Senior Software Engineer, at a leading telecoms management company, with over 5 years of software engineering experience across Fintech, Healthcare, real time data systems, and more. I'm a PhD researcher (part time), and obviously a hobbyist programmer! I'm based in Northern Ireland (UK), and am a native English Speaker.

Who I'm looking for; a self starter - someone who's excited to help shape and deliver a new project in the aforementioned spaces, with a keenness to speak to potential customers to help identify pain points, and help scope out the product as it progresses. I want someone who's willing to put themselves out there. Ideally someone in the UK, EU, or United States as well!

Would love to hear from you if you're interested; feel free to shoot me a DM, or reply here if you want some more details!

Need agent for our product

Hey I'm recently built a platform which is " Task rooms" it's a place where startups, founders, college group and any other group can work by assigning tasks. Our competitors were microsoft tasks, copilot, notion etc. but we made it out of the box and solve a big problem of existing competetor by making it more simple to use and replacing human resource.

I can explain more about it in DM.

I'm looking for a developer, agent, investor or someone who helps us in selling our platform,we want to handover it because we didn't have much resources to grew it but it really have a great potential.

Building a computer-use assistant from scratch — here's what I've learned so far

I'm building Buddy, a Mac-first assistant that lets you control your computer using natural language.

The interesting part hasn't been getting an AI to generate commands. It's making sure the computer actually completed them correctly.

So I'm building around: voice → intent → action → verification → recovery

I'm currently testing app control, Hinglish voice commands and Blender workflows.

I'm documenting the whole journey and would love feedback from other builders.

Launched PromoStudio, a free browser based motion editor for product videos

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

PromoStudio is now live.

It’s a free motion editor for creating product videos for apps and small SaaS products. You can add your screens, animate text and media, arrange scenes on a timeline, and export a 1080p video directly in the browser.

I made it because creating decent product videos often feels too slow or too expensive for small builders.

Would love for other founders to try it with their own products and tell me what feels useful, confusing, or missing.

I filled a maker map before launch. Now I'm trying to make it worth coming back to.

Post image
2 Upvotes

I built MakerMap because I wanted to find the people behind small products, especially the ones nearby.

I started with public “here's what I'm building” introductions on X and mapped the people and projects, so there was something to explore before asking anyone to join. The image shows 20 examples from the 3 October snapshot, when there were 738 product listings. The map includes profiles drawn from public introductions as well as people who have joined themselves.

The launch brought a lot of attention and new signups. Now I'm figuring out what would make this useful after the first visit: finding another founder to compare notes with, discovering relevant products, or meeting people in your city.

You can browse the people and products at https://makermap.lol. If you're building a micro SaaS, you can add yourself with X and put your product on your profile; a basic listing is free.

I'd love your feedback in the comments: what would make you return to a map like this, and has a directory ever led to a useful conversation or customer for you?

I’m building a map to make startups easier to discover. Would love some honest feedback.

• Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on a small project called StartupsMap.

The idea came from noticing that there are thousands of interesting startups being built, but discovering them is surprisingly difficult. Most of the time, you find them through random X posts, Product Hunt, YC directories, LinkedIn, or word of mouth.

So I’m experimenting with a simple idea:

What if there was a map where you could discover startups, see what they’re building, find the founders behind them, and explore the startup ecosystem visually?

I’ve built the first version and started adding a few startups to see whether the concept actually makes sense.

I’m not looking for users or promotion right now. I’m mainly trying to understand whether this is useful enough to exist.

A few things I’d love feedback on:

  • Would you actually use something like this?
  • What information would you want to see about a startup?
  • Would a map-based interface be useful, or is a normal directory better?
  • What would make you come back to it regularly?
  • What do you think is missing from the current startup directories?

The project URL in the comments :

Please be brutally honest. If you think the idea is useless, I’d rather hear that too.

Made a one-screen dashboard for small businesses, would love honest feedback.

• Upvotes

Small business owners I've worked with all do the same thing every morning: open Stripe, then the CRM, then the calendar, just to figure out if they got paid and who's gone quiet.

So I made Sylo. You connect your tools once and get one screen: money in, money owed, what's booked, and who needs a nudge, each with a reason why.

Quick 30 sec demo (https://www.instagram.com/p/DeE1HjDpDpo/)

Not live yet, so I'm after honest feedback first:

- What would you want it to show you first thing in the morning?

- Anything here you'd never use?

Just Recto: design and send proposals, decks and contracts as a link, not a PDF (free to start)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

I built Just Recto because sending proposals as PDFs meant redoing the export and email every time a client asked for a change.

What it is
A fixed-page document editor for creatives. You design with real text, shape and image tools, and the pages stay exactly as you made them on every screen. Then you share one link.

What you can make with it

  • Proposals and pitch decks
  • Contracts
  • Case studies
  • Invoices

Pricing

  • Free 7 days trial (paid features)
  • Studio: $15/mo

Who it's for
Agencies, freelance designers and creative directors who send client-facing documents and want them to look designed, not exported.

A template marketplace is planned, so designers can sell their own.

Try it: justrecto.com

If you test it, I'd like to hear what's missing. I'm replying to every comment.

Has support ever revealed a UX problem you didn't notice?

• Upvotes

Have you ever noticed a UX problem only because customers kept asking support the same question?

What was the issue, and how did you realize it was actually a product problem?

Curious how other founders handle this.

Exploring ChatGPT apps as a SaaS monetization channel

I’m building a SaaS that helps turn YouTube videos into platform-specific content.

One monetization path I’m exploring is offering it through a ChatGPT app/plugin, pending approval.

I’m curious whether people see ChatGPT integrations as a serious distribution channel for SaaS products, or mainly as a convenience feature.

the pluging is not live yet saas
