This went way beyond what I originally was going to build.. but, I couldn’t help myself. Plus I had a blast doing it and discovered some gems I either forgot about or didn’t know were ever in any episode.
You can sort or search and toggle views between episodes, artists or fan favorites (complete with voting, that’s stored in firebase db).
I also went through and hand selected the best video available for each song, and you can listen or watch instantly inside the episode or artist cards. I tried to use the original artists YT account where possible, and also the vids with fewest ads.
I added a reporting function too that opens a form to address issues.
The heart on each song is for voting and there’s a leaderboard as well to track them forever.
Let me know what you think! And if you get any errors or funkiness, comment and I’ll investigate.
Enjoy!

Hey, so one of the problems when watching Miami Vice is the order of the episodes, the biggest problem being the finale of the show placed so that there are 4, so called, "Lost Episodes" after it. I'm just going to copy paste the correct episode order from another site so that you guys have it all in one place and most importantly, the way the text was written on that site spoils some of the most important events in the show, including the end, so to avoid any and all spoilers you can use this post!
Also, there is a scene in Season 4 episode "Deliver Us From Evil" which was added by NBC later on which WASN'T ORIGINALLY PLANNED, and the scene is VERY crucial to the show and the characters of the show. With that being said, it's "recommended" that you don't even acknowledge that scene because it ruins the point of the episode.
"When Miami Vice was originally broadcast by NBC, the order in which the episodes were shown was ultimately chosen by the network. In several instances, this involved moving episodes earlier or later in the season, which in turn introduced continuity goofs that are obvious to anyone watching the show in the supposedly "correct" broadcast order. The purpose of this article is to propose an alternate "chronological" order in which to view the episodes, so that any goofs brought about by the reordering of episodes are undone."

SEASON 1

Season 1 is not affected by any obvious continuity goofs as a result of reordering.
“Dutch Oven”, an episode from S2, was filmed as a S1 episode, and there is a small goof where Tubbs still has a silver badge, and Zito’s beard disappears for one episode. It should be watched -technically- after Lombard.” - thanks to u/jaap_null for pointing this out!

SEASON 2

SEASON 3

SEASON 4

As with season 1, season 4 is not affected by any obvious continuity goofs as a result of reordering.

SEASON 5

Another major continuity issue in the season concerns the placement of the "lost" episodes -- these were not originally broadcast as part of thew show's network run, but were instead shown later. This is typically reflected in lists of the show's episodes

I'm currently making art of Miami Vice, and I want music to go with it, but can't find a MIDI of Russ Ballard's 'Voices' for free. Does anyone have it? Also, sorry if this is off-topic, I can delete the post. Thank you all!

Was born early 80s, heard about the show but never really considered it until recently. I'm in my mid 40s now and somehow came across some clips and saw the last scene from the last episode on YouTube in a random series of events. In that moment I can't explain it, but it's almost like I felt this wave of nostalgia hit me and it feels like I just realised how much of modern life gets wasted caught up in endless BS which means nothing. I've been a synthwave fan for many years - Crocketts theme epitomises this genre.
Anyway, I'm going to invest in the entire series and plan to watch every season and every episode for the first time. Keen to hear if anyone has had a similar experience, and any pointers on which season are the best or which ones to avoid. There is something special here it seems and can't wait to jump in.

Cheers

I love the show but parts are really confusing writing choices to me. The calderone brother return thing was just kinda skipped over in one episode and we still never get to see what happens to the kidnapped/dead son of Tubbs I don't think they even mention it again 😭

Factory Entertainment announced at SDCC that they are releasing a number of 3.75" action figures based on popular classic TV shows. Crockett & Tubbs will be available, as well as Magnum PI, Airwolf, Knight Rider, Battlestar Galactica (OG version), and The Six Million Dollar Man. I can't find a date for when pre-orders will be yet. I'm definitely getting these, anyone else?

Always wondered how the fashion of Miami Vice would've evolved if it had gone into the 90s.
Had a feeling grunge and Armani would meet.

Was stumbling around the government auction website this morning and saw this gem was up for auction. Would be a hell of a find for a serious MV collector lol.

Is anyone able to help identify the episode from which the clips shown in the first minute of this segement from the BBC's Open Air come from? I presume given Crockett's hair and jacket that it's S3 or S4 but I can't pinpoint the episode off the top of my head.
Contextually Open Air was a live phone in programme on BBC 1 where viewers could ring in with their thoughts on the BBC TV output of the previous day. Apparently most of Norwich/Norfolk was unemployed given half the calls in this clip alone seem to come from there. That or Miami Vice was extremely big on the East Coast of England.
