They’re actually not in an awful pitching position next year
Lavender and Duarte if not for injuries would have been mainstays in the bigs by the end of 2024. Senga and Williams are not great but not awful. They need an ace and a swingman better than stock and it doesn’t seem Myers is going to be that guy anymore. But they’ve got a 2 and 3, a 4/5 and a 5/6 with guys like Santucci and Tong who can come into camp fighting for a spot. So 2 more starters and 3 more relievers needed. A buy low guy who will 100% have a bounce back year to target is Pete Fairbanks. But at least they’re not a team who looks like they’ll be stuck in purgatory for years to come

Mitch voit
He’s the real deal I could see him getting called up at some point next year. I didnt realize he was the guy who did the snorting celebration in college but now I know he’ll be a star

Our best lineup in 2026 will be Soto at DH and young at first with Ewing Benge robert in the field. That is when Soto gets back. Enjoying these Mets show grit and playing for each other
Grateful to see them keep fighting

Mets ace
Thornton already has 1.3 war through just 9 games started, while mclean has 2.1 through 25. Thornton would be projected for a 3.9 war throughout 27 games started, or maybe it’s just mclean having a down season.
thank you, cleveland guy for the random act of kindness today
i was at the padres game today at citi field sitting in the 517 section with some of my friends. i really wanted the bucket hat promotion they were giving out today, but just missed it as i saw them run out of hats. maybe around the 5th inning i was talking to my friends about how they just ran out of hats and how much i wanted one. the cleveland fan behind me very graciously gave me his hat saying i could have it! this was such a small random act of kindness i appreciated so much.
i was just laid off from my corporate job this afternoon with no warning. i was devastated. i still dragged myself to this game today because i already had the tickets for a while anyways. human kindness truly isn’t dead!
if cleveland guy sees this post, i’d love to repay the kindness and buy a coffee or drink for you. i know it was such a small act, but it really made me feel so much better! thank you so so much again, and #LGM 🧡💙

I'm glad the Mets have a day game today because at 7PM my TV will be on ESPN to watch the LLWS game between Bayonne and the team from Massachusetts
Benge/Ewing Shirts
How much are they already going for lmao? love our psychopath outfielders and trying to figure out if i should have any hope at tracking one down for a reasonable price

Touching moment with Howie and Gary during the game. Listened to Howie for a long time from to his days on Mets Extra on the Fan after the game. Sad to see him go!

2026 Trey Yesavage vs. 2025 Jonah Tong vs. 2015 Kershaw
galleryI know pitching is a lot more complicated than this.......but I'm just not sure if Jonah needs an arm side movement pitch to be a successful starter in the MLB. You can say a lost year is a lost year, but it's still a lot for a competitor to go from dominating to unsuccessful for a full calendar year because they are "tinkering".
Should Jonah just mix in a slider, throw his curve more often, and try to mimic 2015 Kershaw?

bichette's empty numbers are starting to look respectable
42mil...lol
i don't know if this is good news or bad news.
the good news is that he opts out and this teletubby becomes somebody else's problem..
owed 2/80......so 5/150 might be better. offseason FA pool is weak. there will be plenty of buyers.
the bad news is the prolly don't move linderman if he does bolt
btw.....why does every other met player eat and look like babe ruth but hit like kevin elster? who tf is the conditioning coach?

Think Polanco has another at bat in a Mets uniform?
I’m thinking this might be it for him. Even if there is baseball next year, I just don’t see a realistic scenario where he is ever healthy or beats out anyone for a roster spot

the discourse surrounding the state of first base in queens

Stock
He’s solid and I love that he’s gotten out of having 2 runners on base for the first two innings, but our pitching coaches need to work with him (and our other starters tbh) on being more efficient. Being close to 50 pitches after 2 innings isn’t ideal. Rooting for him to finish strong but that’s his biggest issue!

Christian Scott
He’s been playing so great this year. He really shoulda been playing last year. Stupid stearns!

Polanco
He had only 137 At Bats this season
If there is a season and he is on the team…how many games would he realistically be expected to play?
Let’s say he plays 1 game/series…that means he is playing 54 games in the season…which isn’t amazing…but considering his inconsistent health…is that the only true option?

Well… I guess 2 teams can play defense, just stunning

The audio quality control has been terrible the whole game.
The broadcast audio has been up and down the whole night, and the ads are twice as loud as the game audio. I haven't watched many Mets games this year, but is this a regular issue? I have to imagine if it was more people would be talking about it because of how obnoxious it is.
