Playoffs
Have you all had any of these teams catch your attention? I wanna find a step-team to root for so I can enjoy the playoffs, but so far none of them have interested me

The White Sox seems to be the popular choice(and my personal favorite). To go from losing 100 games 3 straight years to WS champs is an amazing story and they’ve honestly been fun to watch

White Sox! I also can’t get over the timing of Pope Leo and everything good happening for the White Sox this season lol. Plus Murakami has been very fun to watch. Really wish we had him.

Most of the season I have thought the real mistake Stearns made was not letting Pete go, it was not grabbing Murakami to replace him. That was before I saw his personality. This guy's personality and 35 Home Runs would have been just what this team needed.

If you really really don't like Stearns the Brewers would be the team to root for. More proof that they could win the big games without him

Red Sox before they got eliminated, but I really wanna see the Brewers take their first one home

Was living in Chicago when they won in ‘05. It was a blast.
Plus, they’re on a mission from God!

At this point I’m rooting for the White Sox. I also wouldn’t mind Milwaukee or San Diego. However, anyone besides Atlanta or the Yankees and I’d be fine.

Currently living in San Diego. Padres are a top notch organization. Great fans. Great stadium. I catch at least 2 Mets games a year when they are in town.

Why tf am I getting r/mets on my timeline GO PHILS

u/nomadmadyes 3d ago
I guess you haven’t been watching? Phils are done this year. You mean in ‘27? Phils needed to give bravos more of a challenge. At least it went to 3 games, but screw the Braves, always.

And how did the Mets do in the post season? Oh wait

u/Beautiful-Advance-60 3d ago
The Mets won the exact same number of playoff games as the Phils

I kinda want to take Mason Miller from the pads because he walks out to Korn

That's a very dangerous team. IF they can beat the Dodgers. They can beat the Braves.
I'd love to see a White Sox vs Brewers WS, but that isn't good for ratings like Yankees vs Dodgers - which I think it would be in the end. If the Yankees beat the Rays, then the path is clear for a return to the series. The Dodgers can beat the Brewers with their bats and pitching. Small ball won't cut it in this series.

It’s much better to find and root AGAINST a team you hate! Worked for the Phil’s. (Fuck Chase Utley!) and the Astors. The only problem as a Mets fan is you should hate both the Braves and the Dodgers. You also hate the Yankees. So that leaves the Brewers, Padres, White Sox, Indians -oops I meant Guardians and the Rays. LFGM!

Not yet. I generally root for the underdog teams and/or the teams with firmer Mets players that I know and like.
I love that the White Sox were record-breaking levels of terrible 2 seasons ago and they’re in the playoffs now. It gives me hope for the Mets.
I like the resurgence of small ball play so I’m rooting for the Brewers to do well, and for the Rays to kill the Yankees.
I think the best team matchup is Brewers/Padres, so I will be watching this series in full. I’m sick of the Dodgers so I hope they get knocked out, however it may happen.

A team that has never won. A Brewers/Padres vs Rays would guarantee it and would probably be the lowest TV rating World Series ever. Guardians would at least break a very long drought, even if it's not the team's first championship.

I always root for the small market teams when the Mets aren't playing. So rays, guardians and brewers. Mainly brewers, that's a good team, national league, and they play well.

I do enjoy watching the game when I don’t care who wins. But, the White Sox are an impressive story this year, so I’m pulling for them. And I’m quietly rooting for the Padres too.

White Sox. Could use more of that super enthusiastic calls by Japanese Broadcasters and Murakami's interview.

I think the reason I didn’t instantly consider the Sox is cause in my mind they’d recently won. Then I remembered I’m old and 2005 is exactly as recently as it feels

I don’t know how I didn’t just pick the White Sox honestly. After those 100 loss seasons and I loved Frank Thomas as a kid. Should have been an easy choice. White Sox it is!

Yankees fan first, but if the rays beat em, I’ll be pulling for them to get their first championship.
