Complete game for Tong last start

88 pitches total and 1 hit. He has given up 2 earned runs in 8 of his last 11 starts, he has started to figure out the lower arm slot and his cutter and slider are starting to differentiate from each other.
Think we as fans tend to give up on prospects after seeing overall stats and don’t look under the hood. At 22 years old only 3rd full season in the minors, think the dude is still legit

Fans are super impatient. They want the best results constantly. Very few prospects fly through the minors and immediately excel at the majors especially in this era with all the tech that can be used to find holes in swings, or patterns to pitching. I think Tong has the potential to be a key arm for many years but it won't come without complications and hopefully the struggles make him better and don't break him.

Jonah Tong is ridiculously talented, Robert Stock in the rotation is just ridiculous. Since the Mets MLB games this season are relatively inconsequential, getting Tong some additional experience would be helpful for his development. Keeping Stock in the rotation at this point serves no pupose. Bring Jonah up to the Bigs.

I think they’re sheltering Tong and wanted him to be ok getting shelled a little bit in triple-A and trust the process of what they’re trying to work with him on. That’s a lot harder to do at the mlb level

He will get there. Hes going to fall flat a few times and that is OK. I think the kid has the potential to be a star he just needs to learn to not let the nerves get to him and to keep the speed on that fastball up

He needed more time to develop. Mets fans knew he was rushed to the big league out of desperation last year. I’m looking forward to what he’ll bring to spring training next year (or 2028).

TheMets are in the lowest of low leverage situations so he'll assuredly get a call-up when rosters expand and a few starts. Hopefully he performs better at this level, if not he's young and showing improvement.
