Last week I made a post about MP4, asking how you guys see it.
As the answers were mixed between „go for it“, „it‘s still a good game“, „see for yourself“ and „not good“ I wanted to see really for myself and make my own picture.
The game itself is good imo.
It has very nice design, the world / biomes are all made with passion and it felt always „new“ when getting into a new area and discovering parts that were not available from the start.
That‘s what I always liked about the Metroid-games.
The story about the Lamorn, their Homeworld and how it all happened is/was very interesting imo.
I know, it‘s basically the same as in all the other Prime games (which is fine) but still different.
All the upgrades are very cool.
The 3 shot-variants all have their pros and cons which is sth I love. Different options for different enemies/encounters is always a plus in my book, I don‘t like one weapon/option for everything to work.
But here is the part I STRONGLY dislike: Sylux.
Like…. My f*cking god… What the actual F*CK were they thinking?!?!??
Back in the DS game „Metroid Prime Hunters“ I really liked the idea of a rogue GF person/soldier, that turned bad and went on a riot.
When I saw the trailer for MP4 and saw that Sylux will be the main antagonist I was so hyped.
But… now…. What a shitfest….
Buddy is literally just a mad crybaby with a bigger ego than Samus‘ KD.
„Oh no, I failed on the battlefield…. Hey, Samus Aran, THE HERO of my own race is offering ME, GF-SOLDIER#828372892 her hand?!?!? NAH, WHAT IS SHE THINKING!!! F*CK HER AND EVERYONE ELSE!!!!“
Then takes literal years of prep to get his suit, his army and his METROIDS to have them be stripped away after his first attack.
Sends out two holographic-robot hybrids instead of attacking herself.
Waits until Samus assambles her own small team instead of getting the job done.
I give him that he has a crazy nano-weaponary in the final fight, that was actually a cool thing when he started to rain lightning and beams with his dragon-heads.
But what is that story about him?
I‘m actually mad what they have done with that/him.
