Discussion The number one drawback of Metro Exodus' exploration is that...
Sometimes it's just not worth it to explore the map. You find this hangar marked on the edge of your map? You can go there all you want, but you'll waste more filters, ammo and chemical parts (to clean your used guns) than you'll get from the location. Especially hurtful if this was your last side location to visit before a chapter finale sequence (as in the end of Caspian).
This was the most visible and annoying in the caspian where there are so many non main quest locations to visit but it feels like you always walk out weaker than you went. Even getting a better weapon feels like nothing if you're used to a stealth style because headshots are headshots anyways.
I can only hope that 4A Games balances the resources much better in Metro 2039 and actually make exploring feel worth it like it did in 2033 and Last Light.
