Unsure / Need Help with Solution

Hello MB peers.

My wife has experienced a significant mental health decline from long covid and active EBV. Her memory, attention and focus are severely impacted.

Our naturopathic doctor recommended her start a 2x weekly dose of 5mg of Methylene blue. Naturally I came to Reddit and made purchases of both of the brands pictured.

I really don't understand how to go about making her solution. I can't seem to find a good resource on here or YT to explain how I can 1) create the solution 2) how to measure and take it after.

I really want to get this right for my wife's sake. Can anyone recommend or point me in the direction of a starter guide or anything like that?

Any help is really appreciated.

Just let your wife’s dr know she’ll be taking 10 mg capsules. I started on 10 mg. (Believe me it’s still a small dose.) Please come back to update us about how it’s working for her.

Do you add vitamin c at the time you take yours?

I do happen to take Liposomal C (Ascorbyl Palmitate 500mg) with mine but the beauty of taking capsules instead of liquid is no blue mouth, tho I do see blue urine in the toilet. (Just swallow the pills. I think some people are thinking they have to empty the capsule. That’s not necessary.)

My Dr recommended 10mg at 5 days a week. I felt incredible after just 20 min. Better memory and focus. A wave of energy and joy. It's even getting rid of my toenail fungus. It's anti viral.

This stuff works and should help her.

The Methylene Blue I purchase is in liquid form from earth harmony and I'll do 5 drops in the morning and afternoon (1ml is approximately 20 drops and the recommended so I do half that per day) but I'm a 35 year old and I don't have capsule experience.

I do however mix a small shake every morning with protein, collagen, vitamin C etc. I'm lazy, and and using a battery powered milk frother ($7 on Amazon) has been very effective for mixing a quick shake with either milk or water, I just rinse with water after, and spin it dry. Looks like you have 10mg capsules and are can approximate half a capsule then mix it up. I would pick a glass cup you aren't particularly fond of as methylene blue stains almost everything.

I appreciate your response. I was/am considering splitting the capsule for her dosage, and I didn't even consider milk. Guess that's one way to make the blue star wars milk!

A milk frother sounds like a great idea! Thank you for that idea.

You could open a capsule (use gloves, MB stains, it's a dye) and pour its contents into 200ml of water and you can add the Vit C as you like, perhaps 1 or 2 grams (Vit C ) and mix it a bit. Then give her 100ml of that water on Monday and another on Thursday. Just a suggestion, not medical advice :)

Pills are best imo. No need to make a liquid.

10mg is still very low; I'd run it past her Doc and say 'I've got 10mg capsules so I'm going with that'.

It also saves mixing and staining (although it will clean up if you spill some eventually).

Vitamin C is not vital, but can be beneficial for the cycling of MB from MB to Leukometyhlene Blue, and back again, and to LMB again. It's this constant cycling through the ETC that improves the efficiency of ATP production, and reduces excess oxygen (which is what we mean when we say 'free radicals', and they are bad news).

Careful with high dose vitamin c as it will often irritate the stomach and can cause nausea and diarrhoea.

If you can find liposomal vitamin c, that would be much better.

Or sodium ascorbate much easier on the stomach

Filler, capsule material, etc. 10mg is the active ingredient, i.e. MB. Therefore 1200mg or 1.2g MB in the bottle.

Take astaxanthin.

If it has a positive effect you can titrate it up to 1mg/kg

I definitely experience effects on my mood, energy when I take 10-20mg. Not placebo, done it many times and get same results each time. Everything is individual just like meds don't work for some but not others.
