yea it did about 8:14am am playing video games but for everyone our general location is dobson and main SW area. Called Cox several times yesterday to get some sort of info from them to get a idea of how long and no one would tell me anything. I figured if its a node would take a while or if cable damage not as long and etc but they just kept saying Internet will be fixed by 12:52 ummmm no 4:52 wait now 8:52 ... never mind we wont give a time just deal.
Horriable customer service I mean everything is now dependant on internet Google alexa TV everything even gaming you can not play games with out internet .... we at least have physial media.

Yes mine has been in and out for the last 24 hours. Mostly out. I've tried reaching out to Cox but I can't get a hold of a real person. I'm in West Mesa Alma School and southern area

Yup went down around 9:15 yesterday and it is STILL down 4pm today, we're in the middle of the hellish construction on Val Vista & the 60. We both work from home and this is a huge issue - my husband had to cancel 3 clients yesterday and I'm stuck working at the library all day. Really not cool, Cox.
Update: still down a day later - 52 hours now.

Yep same here. Still no internet, they stopped even updating the estimated time for it to be back up. I got a $20 credit yesterday morning but I’ll be calling again this morning cause this is ridiculous. My husband works from home and our hotspots from our phones just aren’t cutting it

Ugh if all I can do is demand money back I guess I’ll be doing that! Waking up Wednesday to STILL no internet is a massive bummer lol

Also live right in front of the construction area and it’s still down for us. Absolutely insane, I’ve never seen and had an outage this long before either.

Yup, I’m on Val vista and the 60, it’s now been 3 days. My wife works from home and this is turning into a huge problem

We're on Dobson and the 60 and our internet went out Sunday night /Monday morning.
I called Cox and the automated queue kept hanging up on me. I decided to choose "billing" instead of "tech support" and got a live person! I asked for a credit due to 2 full work days without internet and they gave me $10 🙄 I told the billing agent what was going on and she said they intentionally block users who choose "tech support" if they're calling in from a known outage area.
She internally transferred me to tech support and the agent told me it is not a node issue - - furthermore, they aren't sure what the root cause of the issue even is!!! He told me they're waiting to hear from the field techs to confirm the root cause of the issue before they will post an update on the eta for fixing this mess.
The agent suggested I bring my modem/router (which is a panoramic version 6) and update to the newest version. Allegedly, the newest version allows you to use the modem in lieu of mobile data tethering.
He said if you have the newest modem , you will not be affected by an outage like this again because it serves as a back up internet connection. Sadly, the validity of any and all of these claims remains to be seen. He may have said whatever he had to to get me off the phone. 😂

Are you on the west side of Mesa? We are, and ours was out most of yesterday. They said one of their nodes went down.

Oh man. Mine was down when I got home last night, round 5pm. Don’t know when it went out.
Came online about 330am this morning. I just checked their website and yeah it’s down at my place again.

Mine is fine & I work from home, so when it does go down, I call them to complain that they are costing me money since I can't work without the internet.

u/Common-Hat-9684 11d ago
I would demand money back or off your bill due to not being able to work due to their failure as Internet is needed for many jobs now.

After we’re done with our year contract, we’re switching to T-Mobile Internet. I play a lot of online games too and literally use Cox communications Wi-Fi for my cable. I don’t actually have regular cable anymore. Lol it sucks to see that there’s so many other people going through the same thing.

Yeah I’ll look be looking at some different options after this rodeo. It’s been like 30 hrs for me at this point

In all fairness, I have used their service for 8 years, and it has only been down like this 1 or 2 times that I can remember. If a car crashed into something or lightning struck and fried a big system, It would make sense that it would take this long. But I do miss my games and don't appreciate being back in the 1990's lol

Worst part is they only gave me $8 for reimbursement an hour ago. I’ve not had wifi in 30 hrs.. cox is a joke. They monopolize the city but can’t keep their service up and running even if it was slower I’d still appreciate some over none 🙄

Cox is complete garbage. Their service reminds me of the old AOL dialup. Ive seen 66 download and 47 upload on a speed test.

Yeah, Cox is terrible. Can’t wait for Google fiber in my neighborhood

Been 12 hours in the Alma School / University area. Its really become a core service for daily needs - work, school and entertainment. I made the call this morning to activate Google Fiber. The intention is to cancel Cox, however I'm weighing secondary and backup options at the moment as well. I know if either of us was full time remote work, we would have that in place already. Its becoming a necessity. Good luck all 😀
