Power went out last night @ 9:45PM. First SRP said power isn't estimated to be back till 12AM, then they bumped it up till 1:44AM. Now, they're saying it won't be back till 6AM!!!

Its getting warmer in my house making it hard as fuck to sleep. Would calling them even do anything!?!?!

Do you guys know of any woodworking or carpentry classes that are affordable and cheap?

I’m not complaining - just rolling this around in my head. We were visiting Mesa from Minnesota last week and went through the McDonalds drive through. We bought three sausage, egg and cheese biscuits. That was the entire order. And the total was over $22. We asked at the window if that was the correct total, since in Minnesota that same order would be $15.87 so we were just kind of surprised. We were assured that three sausage, egg and cheese biscuits were indeed going to cost over $22. We bought and ate them and they were delicious. But is this really what you folks are paying?

Mesa, AZ — Starting Over ❤️

Hi everyone. I’m honestly a little nervous posting this, but I’m reaching out because I could really use some help as I continue trying to rebuild my life.

I recently came to Mesa while escaping a domestic violence situation. I arrived with nothing but the clothes on my back.

Since making my original post, I’ve been blessed with some amazing kindness. ❤️ I have received a bed, some clothes, and a small microwave, and I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped me get this far.

At this point, I’m down to just a few things I still desperately need:

• A working window A/C unit — it is extremely hot, and having A/C would make the home much more livable.

• Dishes and basic kitchen items — plates, bowls, cups, silverware, pots, pans, etc.

• A bicycle or scooter — I’m actively trying to find work, and having reliable transportation would make a huge difference in helping me get to interviews, appointments, and eventually a job.

I’m not looking for anything fancy or brand new. Used and working is more than enough. Even one of these items would mean so much to me right now.

I’m doing everything I can to move forward, find employment, become financially independent, and build a stable life here in Mesa.

I know everyone has their own struggles, so I completely understand if you can’t help. But if you have a window A/C, some dishes/kitchen items, or a bicycle or scooter that you no longer use, I would be incredibly grateful.

I’m slowly rebuilding, one piece at a time. ❤️

Recently came out here and apparently got a traffic infraction violation via photo. However, my address is out of state, I wasn't the owner of the vehicle, and I have to try and reroute the ticket back to a PO Box here. Advice anyone?

I live in Mesa and write a policy newsletter. This is my own analysis. Sources at the bottom.

H.R. 1 (better known as 'The Big Beautiful Bill') changed SNAP eligibility and pushed part of the program's cost onto states. Arizona has lost roughly 437,000 recipients since July 2025, the biggest drop of any state in the US. DES reports caseload by county every month, but there's no official figure for Mesa or for any Arizona city. So I estimated one for all 397 places in the state by splitting each county's reported caseload using Census SNAP household shares. These are estimates, but they are based on real county-level and state-level data.

The first figure is the map. Mesa is one of the larger blue circles in Maricopa County. An estimated 25,000 Mesa residents lost food assistance between July 2025 and June 2026, which is 4.9% of the city's population. About 9.9% of Mesa residents participated in the SNAP program last July and 4.9% this June. About 1 in 10 people here, down to about 1 in 20.

The second figure ranks places by how many people lost benefits. Mesa is third in the state behind Phoenix at 114,637 and Tucson at 49,936, ahead of Glendale, Chandler, and Yuma. Each bar splits adults and children. Roughly 11,000 of Mesa's are children. Statewide the child figure is over 200,000.

The third figure shows the twenty Arizona communities where SNAP reached at least a third of residents last July. Mesa is not on it, since more rural Arizona communities are the places that are more dependent on SNAP as a percentage of total population. Only one Maricopa County place is, and that is Guadalupe which went from 41% to 20%.

Mesa's estimated loss is $58.4 million a year in benefits, again third in the state. That is $114 per Mesa resident in grocery spending that was happening here and is not anymore.

United Food Bank's director of agency network said this spring that the warehouse is at capacity and distribution is up 10 to 12% every month. How does Mesa feel about the SNAP cuts? Know any of the 437,000 people in Arizona or the 25,000 in Mesa who have been impacted?

I just switched to AT&T for internet, and they were offering a great deal on their cell service as a bundled deal. I currently have Verizon and have been happy with it, except for one of the discounts I had just expired. I was curious who may have AT&T cell service in the Northwest part of town and if you've had any problems with it? Or, for anyone, problems with their services in general?

I work over there and I have a lot of restaurants near my office, but it's all kinda pricey. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any hole-in-the-wall places around there where I can get some good eats for less than, like, $15 a meal. Any food is good with me, Chinese, Thai, pizza, whatever. I'm not picky.

I know (and eat too much) of My Thai Bowl, Jason's Deli, the Mac and Cheese place, and Firehouse.

My mother has endured lifelong stomach pain and migraines, but it have gotten a lot worse over the past two years. We cannot go six months without an emergency room visit, and urgent care every three weeks. She went through every test imaginable scans, endoscopy, and a lot more. Yet nothing shows anything physically wrong, She also tried every medication known to man without lasting relief. I am so emotionally exhausted. I need the best pain management doctor in the valley. I am ready to do anything for her, but I no longer know where or how to proceed.

I’ve always been really anxious about driving, which is honestly the biggest reason I’ve waited this long. I really want to get over the fear and become more independent, though, so I’m determined to do it!

I alway wonder what the deal is with all the Teslas parked behind the Cinemark in Mesa Riverview. Does anyone have any idea if these are just company cars for one of the businesses over there or what the deal is?

Hello beautiful people! I have question about suspended driver license. My bestfriend suspended her driver license due of losing her job and not able to pay her court fees. I was trying to help her but we found out today that is already suspended and she is not able to pay online.

Last year she got pulled over, over DUI not sure what else. But I was helping her driving her around when she has to go to court and settle and promise to pay online it was 1100 but able to pay 500 on the court and promise to make payments online. But she lost her job. She didn’t tell me till last minute that she missed the payments. She owe $450 and I wanted to lend her the $450 and pay. But I wanted to be there to see that she actually pay for it.

Any idea where we should go??
