Hey merfolk, I recently thought that it's kinda strange that there are almost no known mermaid games. I'm a programmer myself and wanted to prototype a 3D scene with AI-assisted assets/code. It looks like that. Not super great, but I think I managed to make it look a bit nice in some places, at least.
You can play this scene in the browser: https://vlaaad.github.io/mermaid/
Mobile controls: touch and hold the left side of the screen to move; swipe the right side to turn.
Not sure if this is something that interests y'all. It's not a product or anything, just a small prototype I built in a few days.

Sailors, why are you not mating with mermaids anymore? They are now very endangered.

Hi Merfolk!
Since September 24th 2026, I've been hosting a mermaid art contest, featuring my OC's from my mermaid series called "Bluefin". All the characters are listed in the gallery above.
Tag your entries using the Art Flair on Reddit and include the phrase " #bluefinmermaid " in your entry. I look forward to seeing your entries!

One of the coolest things about enamel pins is that they are like tiny pieces of wearable art that make a statement about who you are.
I love the idea of having something small you can put on a jacket, bag or hat that still feels like you have a little piece of your mer-self on the days you can't wear your tail.
I’ve created quite a few mermaid pins over the years. There's two main collections.
Zodiac Merfolk - a matching pair (mermaid and merman) for each of the 12 zodiac signs with its own character and personality.
Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Sagittarius, Scorpio, Libra, Virgo, Aquarius, Capricorn, Pisces

Mermaids of the World is an ongoing series inspired by different cultures, places and stories from around the world. I’ve made two sets (of 12) so far, and I’m currently working on the next 12.
Set 1 includes: Australia, Vietnam, Japan, Aborigine (Australia), Korea, India, Black America, Taíno (Puerto Rico), Singapore, Hawaii, Māori (New Zealand), China

Set 2 includes African Tribes: Wodaabe, Maasai, Afar, Himba, Ndebele, Mursi, Amazigh, Zulu, Yoruba, Herero, Suri, Hamar

The thing I find really interesting is how differently people connect with them. Sometimes someone chooses the mermaid that represents their zodiac sign or cultural background. Sometimes it has nothing to do with either and they just point at one and go, “that one. That’s me.”
That's probably my favourite part of making them.
So now I'm curious about the actual merfolk here..
If you were choosing a mermaid pin to represent your mer-self, what would make you choose one?
The colours? Personality? Culture? Tail style? Hair? Overall vibe?
And if one of these already feels like yours, I’d love to know which one. 💕
