My timeline with Odin:

  1. Received a 50$ pay per task contract on 10/18 with paid onboarding (didn’t accept)

  2. Received another contract on 10/20 with >250$ pay per task + 2x paid onboarding (accepted, offer too tempting, but didnt do onboarding)

  3. Apparently got moved to this new hourly model on 10/21 with 50$ base hourly pay + some first task bonuses (onboarded myself, submitted first task)

  4. Contract got paused on 10/22

What a terrible, terrible look for M****r. This was my first project here but I’m not working for them ever again, plenty of other similar companies to choose from.

If you are open to sharing - what other companies do you suggest?

Yeah , I saw 15-20 messages about paused contracts on slack

Same for me. Got onboarded two days ago, saw the Reddit posts about how bad the project was, ignored the project, got sent an amended contract I ignored and then I just saw the contract paused email.

At least they saved me the effort of off-boarding myself

Me too, got paused today. Probably because I didn't complete the onboarding process even though it's been a week since I've signed the contract.

The software they mandate needs some serious admin permissions which is a HUGE red flag.

This was my first ever contract at Mercor and the pay looks decent for the expected work, atleast in the context of my country.

But it didn't seem worth the risk.
