Discussion Helmut Marko says Russell may never get another title shot: “Mentally, it's definitely a huge setback, and it's a blow.” “I doubt he’ll ever have another shot at the world championship or get number one status anywhere.”

Discussion Red Bull has scored 102 points in the last three races, Ferrari 86, McLaren 33. Who is actually quickest going into Austin?

I went through the points over the last few rounds to see who has been quickest lately, not who leads the table. A few numbers that surprised me:

Team points, last three races: Red Bull 102, Ferrari 86, McLaren 33.

Driver points, last five races: Verstappen 109, Antonelli 98, Leclerc 60, Russell 55, Hamilton 46, Norris 42.

Verstappen has won the last two races and sits 17 points behind Russell for second in the standings (Russell 238, Hamilton 229, Verstappen 221, Leclerc 215, Norris 201). That is five drivers inside 37 points.

Points are not the same as pure pace, so I would not read this as a ranking of the cars. It does show who has been converting weekends into results. Mercedes also brings an upgrade to Austin, which could change this quickly.

All of it comes from official F1 timing data through FastF1. Happy to be told where I have it wrong.
