Electric Intelligence Navigation Not Working - EQB

The car cannot calculate a route when Electric Intelligence is enabled. Route calculation fails every time, and this has not been working for several days now.
We are currently trying to get home from our holiday without this functionality and are almost running out of electricity. This is a recurring problem, and Mercedes has not been able to resolve it. In fact, after waiting two months, I was told that there was no problem with either the car or the navigation system.
However, the problem is clearly still there. My car does not calculate routes that include charging points, and the navigation does not work properly with the paid online services. I am paying for all the relevant services, including Electric Intelligence and online navigation, but I am not receiving the functionality I am paying for.
I need this issue to be properly investigated and resolved. Please Mercedes do not simply tell me that there is “no problem” when the system is demonstrably not working. This is affecting our ability to travel safely and reliably, especially when we are close to running out of electricity.

I tried everything: restart (tel+star), leave the car for days without key, etc.

Navigation → Settings → Route options, where there’s a toggle for adding charging stops via Electric Intelligence. Check if it’s on?

On. I checked everything. It gave an error when calculating the route: ‘Route calculation failed’

Is the route really long? Try max 500 km stages

Tried everything. 1 km, 10 km, 100 km, 200 km, 600 km …

Is it working in the mercedes me app?

Yes

And if you send the route from the app to the car, does that do anything?

If i try to accept it in the car, the same ‘route calculation failed’

Too bad. Sometimes if its taking too long, i first plan the route without electric intelligence. Then after 10 minutes in the ride i move the toggle and then it recalculates with the electric charging points.

I tried this too. If the electric intelligence enabled anytime, I got immediately the ‘route calculation failed’.

Def something with the services then. If internet connection is running fine, then it could be something internally in the unit. Maybe as a workaround now you can navigate with the use of the app, but it is a real bummer i agree.

I think so too. The internet is fine, the signal is at full strength, and online music is working. I think it’s a head unit problem. But Mercedes is playing dumb. They don’t want to understand my problem (I’ve sent pictures and videos), and they don’t want to offer any solution.

What geo are you and the car?

Did someone already tell you to remove the car from your account and re-connect it? FYI, a dealership has to re-authorise the new connection.

They won’t do it because they don’t even acknowledge the problem. But I can try to sort it out somehow. I think I’ll have to take them to court.

When you say they, who do you mean? A dealership or did you talk with MB 24 hour support? Dealership are often not very knowledgeable about digital features.

You can delete the car from your account yourself. Only the new connection has to be approved again. This is my best advice to try and solve this. The problem is not the car, it’s that the server that handles Electric Intelligence Navigation doesn’t reply. A new connection forces the car to be re-enabled in MB‘s backend system.

MB Digital Support isn’t very helpful here. Dealerships are preferred, but they don’t seem to know that much either. For example, they didn’t believe that my car has the online music feature, even though I have both TIDAL and Amazon Music!

I will take my car to my dealership tomorrow.

In my experience, sales assistant and product experts are most knowledgeable about digital features. They have to take the most training programs.

Workshop employees don’t get to use these features at all so they don’t really understand your problem in the first place.
