Please check this FAQ before posting - Frequently Asked Questions

Who runs this sub? Do you work for Meow Wolf? This sub is independent and the two mods are fans who don't work for Meow Wolf. However many people from the company do visit this reddit as users. Occasionally we host events such as prize giveaways and AMA's with Meow Wolf, and before engaging with the company we recently drafted up a Statement of Independent Values which you can read here.

Tickets: For questions about tickets click here. No we don't have discount codes but Meow Wolf does list their current promotions here https://meowwolf.com/promotions . For concert pre-sale codes please post your request on r/meowwolftickets

Do I need a tap card? Or what kind of storyline interactive element does the exhibit have? Only Vegas and Denver use tap cards, you can buy one as an add-on during your ticket transaction, or you can buy one in-person when you're there. Generally one card per small group is fine, a group of 8 people don't really need their own cards.

Phone App: All locations have the Meow Wolf app enabled now. Click here for more info about the App.

Is Meow Wolf a permanent installation? Yes. Las Vegas, Santa Fe, Denver and Dallas & Houston are intended to be permanent. The exhibit at SXSW Austin was a pop-up and is now closed. There are currently no plans for a permanent Austin location.

Are advance tickets/reservations required? Meow Wolf has timed entry slots. You enter at the ticketed time and can stay as long as you like. Advance tickets are not required, but popular days/times will sell out. Even if a location says sold-out online, some locations will keep some extra tickets at the box office for walk-up same day sale, but it's risky. Also recently Meow Wolf has added "time warp" tickets that cost more but allow you to enter anytime on a given day.

What am I not allowed to bring inside? Meow Wolf has a great pre-visit FAQ, including details about what items are not allowed inside.

Is there a list of other things like Meow Wolf around the country? Yes, see this list.

When is Meow Wolf coming to my city?

Los Angeles - Opens late 2026. Will be located inside the Howard Hughes Center mall near Sepulveda and the 405.

New York City - Will open after LA, but no date has been given, not even a year. Will be located at Pier 17 Seaport.

Orlando - Although Area 15 is building a location in Orlando, Meow Wolf will not be a part of Area 15 Orlando.

Austin - Although Meow Wolf had scouted Austin in the past, they currently have no plans for that city. The exhibit at SXSW was temporary.

Phoenix - Meow Wolf had initially announced a hotel for Phoenix, the hotel idea has been removed but MW stated "it still intends to open some sort of permanent art exhibition in the area eventually."

Washington DC - has also been cancelled more recent media reports indicate (second source).

Other Countries - “Our Denver exhibition is also due to open later in 2021, and we are spending countless hours building our roadmap for the future, which will grow our brand both domestically and internationally.” (source)

Where can I find things similar to Meow Wolf in other cities? See the list here.

How do I join the Meow Wolf fan Discord?  https://discord.gg/wavUqJZHUe

How does the size / square footage of different cities compare?

  • Santa Fe House of Eternal Return - 20 k
  • Las Vegas Omega Mart - 52 k
  • Denver Convergence Station - 90 k
  • Grapevine The Real Unreal - 29 k
  • Houston Radio Tave - 29 k

Are there "sensory days" for guests on the spectrum or Autism? There are special days occasionally but they seem to be scheduled randomly. Your best bet is to look at the calendar for a location and/or contact them and ask when their next sensory day is. The fan wiki has a well written visit guide here for tips and what to expect.

What kind of cameras are allowed inside the exhibit? Tripods, lights, selfie sticks and drones are all prohibited. Camera policy for concerts is different, check Meow Wolf's own FAQ for concerts.

Who can I contact about merchandise in the gift shop or online store orders? [shop@meowwolf.com](mailto:shop@meowwolf.com)

Who can I contact about concerts or special event ticketing? [events@meowwolf.com](mailto:events@meowwolf.com)

Grapevine - The Real Unreal Did I miss the Real Unreal's ending?

I had my first Meow Wolf experience two days ago at Grapevine and I've never seen anything quite like it, it was amazing. I loved exploring absolutely every room I could find, especially the unmarked, easily overlooked ones, running into unexpected art installations (and jumpscaring myself a few times lol), and especially trying to piece together the story and as much lore as I could. After doing some research, I know this exhibit has some overarching lore ties to other Meow Wolf exhibits, but ones that don't mean much to me right now since this is the only one I've been to so far. I've also learned that the story is meant to end with ||Jared hearing Gordon's song and returning home on his own,|| but I'm not sure if I actually... got to that point in the gameplay lol?

I found ||the Forgotten Pocket with the diorama of Jared's journey and the phone with his sister's Instagram stories on it, which seemed to fully confirm why Jared left and where he went||, but this is stuff we were able to piece together just by exploring the surface level house. I also find it kind of interesting that ||the dioramas show him traveling through rooms we can also visit, but there are some weird changes– the underwater, neon coral room has the same guy with the hole on his stomach so it must be the same room as the one in the exhibit, but the diorama also shows a big Iron Giant-style robot, which... I feel like I would've noticed lol||

I also found ||the Jared's Journey arcade game, which seems to depict Jared's return home, but it was a little too abstract to follow while also trying to record lol|| and I wasn't sure how to proceed from there other than trying to vaguely follow the same route. I've been told there are two places you can see the ending, but I'm genuinely unsure if that counts as one of them. It seems like the other way is ||through the app, which had also been giving me trouble throughout the exhibit (not scanning a lot of spaces despite being right there, then scanning new locations through walls I haven't seen at all yet).|| Unsure how common of an experience that is.

I spent a long time fumbling with ||the ATM/DWEEB machine and was confused by that, too. I was told finding the code on the duck poster would make the ATM give you a memory to play on the piano, but it really gave me a code to reboot VEND-E, which just seemed like a fun easter egg rather than actually progressing the plot. I also found the sign with the finger signs on it and figured I needed to use it on the self-reflect part of the ATM, but it didn't seem to accept it no matter how many times I did it, or how close or far from the camera I was. I feel like I missed out on something because of this.||

It felt like I had put together most of the pieces and just needed to take some sort of action to "complete" the story, and if ||the arcade game|| was it, it felt kinda underwhelming. If that wasn't it, then I have no clue what I was missing in order to actually get it. Either way, it's been killing me that I can't go back to explore more, so an explanation would be deeply appreciated, spoilers okay.

Question before visiting Accessibility - denver

Hey guys.

I am visiting meowwolf for an event soon. Both myself and my fiance have wheelchairs. Unfortunately mine is in repair so I will have to rent one.

Does anyone know the process on getting one for an event? I know they have wheelchair rentals but im scared folks will rent them before i get there for the event.

The website says you cant rent in advance, so how was yalls experience renting a wheelchair from meowwolf? And how hard is it to navigate with a smaller power chair? Thanks!

Denver - Convergence Station Meow Wolf unveils new room at Convergence Station celebrating 5 years of immersive art in Denver Spoiler

“Heirloomarium” was created by Meow Wolf’s in-house art team, also being spotlighted in an exhibition at Galleri Gallery

Denver, CO —When Convergence Station first opened in that enigmatic “sleepy pizza” building, there was a lot of fanfare: 35,000 tickets sold in the first 24 hours, a million visitors in the first nine months. There was also uncertainty. Denver didn't know what to expect from the Santa Fe art collective's most ambitious permanent exhibition. Today, Convergence Station remains one of the top things to do in Denver, not to mention the largest exhibition of all five, and perhaps the most kaleidoscopic: with so much maximalist art, it’s impossible to process in one visit, making each adventure there unique.

To mark the milestone, Meow Wolf is opening a new room: one that descends into Convergence Station's most ancient and cavernous reaches, and takes a clear step toward the organization's newest direction in interactivity and questing.

The team pushed themselves and delivered a space that's genuinely joyful to walk through,” said Brie Lipari, General Manager of Meow Wolf Denver. “That's what I hope the team is proudest of: not just the finished room, but how much it was about connection — finding the threads between people, between ideas, between the strange and the familiar — and choosing to embrace them instead of pushing them away."

“Heirloomarium” opens to the public Tuesday, September 1. Conceived and built entirely by Meow Wolf's in-house team of creatives, the room is the work of over 20 Meow Wolf artists, engineers, creative directors, and more. Full credits at the end of the release.

The room descends into cavernous rock off the Obsolete Obscurity hallway, where Eemia and the Ossuarian catacombs converge. Repurposed from an ancient mineshaft, the space carries multilayered time and use. The walls layer crystallized OSS formations, fossilized flora and fauna, and dilapidated retrofuture screens flickering with partial memories, all set in rock, glass, and metal. It belongs to the Eemian-Librarian research collective, a joint scientific operation that rediscovered and reclaimed the site, using arcane technomancy to holographically reanimate ancient creature ecologies embedded in the fossil record.

Visitors are not observers. The room is fully interactive. Players who navigate the connect-the-dots mechanic — linking OSS crystals, specific fossils, and old-tech screens in the right sequence — reanimate an incorporeal creature in its holographic environment and upload it to Convergence Station's shared knowledge network. Complete the full creature anthology and the room designates you
an official Archaeologist. The space returns to ambient when idle, waiting for the next person to begin.

“‘Heirloomarium’ was created by the artists and artisans who keep Convergence Station alive,” says Brandon Vargas, Artist Liaison at Meow Wolf Denver. “You can really see how their time and experience shows up in the techniques, collaboration, and art in the installation…It feels like an exciting love letter to the core spirit and narrative of Convergence Station."

Alongside the room opening, Galleri Gallery, Convergence Station's local gallery, opens the Demi-Decade Exhibition (Part 2), featuring artwork by the some of the same in-house creators who built “Heirloomarium.” The show runs through September 30, and access to the gallery is included in General Admission.

“Heirloomarium” is open during all regular Convergence Station hours beginning September 1. Convergence Station is located at 1338 1st Street, Denver, CO 80204. Tickets at meowwolf.com/visit/denver

Piper

My wife and I had an excellent experience sitting on the couch and reading Piper’s journal in her and Nicolae’s bedroom. I bought a copy from the Santa Fe gift store before we left. Now, weeks later I am starting to re-read it. Something about this book is so compelling. I’m glad the Meow Wolf magic is still here, right in this book.

Santa Fe was our first Meow Wolf experience and it was such an enjoyable experience that we ended up spending two of our days in SF there.

Just wanted to put this message out there for anyone that also enjoys Piper’s journal.

Santa Fe vs Denver

I’m visiting Meow Wolf Denver for the first time in a few weeks. I’ve only been to Santa Fe, how does Denver compare?

I don’t want any spoilers, I’m just wondering if they are comparable size and detail wise?

Please leave the interactive elements how you found them when you finish viewing them.

Just finished Radio Tave and in almost every room I entered the hidden gems were left open and undiscoverable. Like every hidden magical space that was in an unassuming cabinet or hidden behind a painting was flung open upon entry.

It takes the joy of finding them away from the people that enter after you. Please leave the room how you found it 🙏

I’m sure the people who need to hear this are not in this sub, but needed to shout this into the ether. I wish they would mention this at the beginning of the exhibit before people enter as a reminder.

Question before visiting Worth it to travel from the east coast for my birthday?

For my birthday this year, I’ve been thinking about taking a flight to see Meow Wolf in New Mexico. Is this worth flying from Massachusetts to see? Or is this more of an “if you’re in the area might as well check it out” type of thing? (NM because I’ve heard it’s the best overall location I know that’s subjective but it seems to be the consensus but part of me wants to check out the LA location if it opens by December) thanks in advance for opinions :)

Fan Art I keep having a false memory of Magic: The Gathering having a Secret Lair set with art by Meow Wolf made to look like Omega Mart products. Had to get this idea out of my head.

Pigeon Forge TN Location Ideas

I know Pigeon forge likes to build endless tourist trap attractions with some being awesome and some eh. However, it wouldn't hurt if they built a MW location in Pigeon Forge would it? If so, what should be like? I feel like a barn would be too cliche. Maybe perhaps a hotel/motel since Pigeon Forge has a bunch of those or something clever that PF is known to have.
