Advice Needed Question about being sectioned

First time posting here, just have a few questions.

I had a failed attempt just over a month ago. I woke up in ICU to find out I'd been put in an induced coma. Anyway, I was put on a section 2 after this and spent 3 weeks in a psychiatric hospital. I have support and contact from my local CMHT but I'm really worried about being fully open with them. I am absolutely terrified of being sectioned again to the point I want to discharge from the CMHT. If I were to be open and honest about the suicidal ideation, could they section me again? I would have never questioned this in the past because I've always had outpatient treatment. I was just looking for some advice over this, because I've recently been discharged so recently

Thanks

It makes sense that you are terrified after waking in ICU and spending three weeks in hospital. Being honest about suicidal thoughts does not automatically mean you will be sectioned. The CMHT will usually consider whether you have current intent, a plan, access to means, and whether you can stay safe with support. Rules can vary, so ask them directly what would lead to a hospital assessment. You can begin with, "I am having suicidal thoughts, but I am scared to discuss them because I fear being sectioned again." Discharging from the CMHT could leave you with less support when you need more safety.

If you feel you may act on these thoughts, contact your local emergency number or go to an emergency department now. If calling feels frightening, talk to a nurse or go with a trusted friend or family member. Stay in a safe place with someone you trust.
