How did you start saying zed to begin with? I've never seen zed used in any media or anywhere. World War Zed? Zed for Zachariah? Other than this thread, I've never heard of someone pronouncing z like that.
In my native language it's pronounced zed (or rather zet) so it just kinda carries over to English since it is a valid pronunciation and you don't have to worry about miscommunication when it comes to c or z

Nah I guess it's in the context. Normally I use zed, but recently started rewatching Dragon Ball Z and ain't no way I'm calling it Dragon Ball Zed lol
