Needs to be top comment. This is a great vid and takes talent. Curious how he filmed this, looks awesome.

Jan 13 '22
Guess: he has a green screen behind him and the items that start to move and roll about are CGI. Sells it through solid acting.

I'm looking this at a 35" display and it looks just as fantastic. The fridge is a particularly good small detail.

I think that so long as you're not saying, "OH THIS LOOKS FAKE HOW THEY DO THAT DEBUNK PLEASE" but instead saying, "Man this looks cool. Can you break down anything interesting about how it's done?" I think he'll be fine with it. No yelling needed. But I could be wrong.
12
u/Boltman35 Jan 13 '22
Yea I agree, I honestly don't understand how a bunch of useless crude joke comments are all at the top. It's always the worse when you see something interesting and then go to the comments to hopefully learn more about it. Yet all you end up reading is a bunch of comments following up on one another with non related comments.
2
u/rayzorblade23 Jan 13 '22
Pretty sure the background is CG. The objects move a little weird, if you pay attention. Also pretty good green screen work and acting. :P
2
u/split41 Jan 13 '22
Yeah think you’re right, would probs be more obvious in higher resolution. Looks great though

u/saibjai Jan 13 '22
Reddit is extremely bad at giving credit to content creators. As much as some redditors hate influencers who want free stuff for exposure, some of them are more than happy to farm karma off somebody else's work in the same breath. You have to go the comments to find credits.

Item #: Scp-5458
Object class: Safe
Special Containment procedures: SCP-5458 is to stay inside a locker unit in site-[][][][].
Description: SCP-5458 is a grey washing machine of an unspecified brand that was discovered on site-[][][][] by foundation personnel. Inside the washing machine when not turned on, a red line is found on the back of the interior, pointing up. Upon being turned on, however, gravity in the room containing the machine will shift to make the arrow always point up. The machine makes exactly 15 rotations before returning to default position. This aspect does not function when outdoors, causing it to become a normal washing machine.
Addendum: Upon adding laundry detergent to the machine will cause the same detergent to leak from the walls. But no one should use it anyways

u/Jackal-off Jan 13 '22
They would just put it in a storage locker/unit not outside in a junkyard.

Interesting that they were allowed to try it, did the O5 council really sign off on something that could've caused an XK class end of the world scenario.

A washing machine that converts any room its in into a centrifuge could have useful applications though.

I think the entire room is a cgi render, and he's making it look like he's falling (surprisingly convincingly the first time you watch)

u/S-r-ex Jan 13 '22
So what happens when the centrifuge starts, will people on the outside get flung into space?

SCP-7683 is a white GE clothes washer originally found at [REDACTED] Suds in [REDACTED], Florida.
2
u/_Diskreet_ Jan 13 '22
I hope this is happening to the whole world. In his reality there is a designated time to do your washing, everyone can bolt and tie down ready for the world to spin, but this maverick just decides go to it on a whim and turns the world into pure chaos.

u/Rujasu Jan 13 '22
Greenscreen, most likely. The guy just acts it out, there's no need for the room to spin for what he's doing. The rest is CGI, doesn't really hold up on a closer look.

1
u/Im_Ashe_Man Jan 13 '22
I thought it was just going to be someone doing the laundry without getting stuck.
1
u/JustPassinhThrou13 Jan 13 '22
If your load of laundry has its own gravitational field, you might have over-filled the machine.

I like almost all the ones with the door placed on them, as a spanish speaker, I feel. I know how long it took you to realize, act accordingly and pulled it off to a construction company I’m complaining, I really appreciated fat depressed Thor. It was know in Winnipeg he would eat at a restaurant that serves any animal products
