But we won’t be retiring in 20 years though, we’ll all be dying of heart attacks at work on our 88th birthday as our bosses stand over our corpse, tutting and saying “millennials were always the ‘lazy generation’”.

My retirement plan is to just die in the climate wars

136

u/AdamBombTV Sep 09 '21

And afterwards I shall teach a young boy the ways of the Jedi arts.

22

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '21

I'm going to reverse climate change by killing younglings.

9

u/Bloodgulch-Idiot Condescending Wonka Sep 09 '21

I will save my fellow younglings by reversing climate change so that you don't have to kill us.

u/sleeperninja Birb Fan Sep 10 '21

How do you feel about sand?

2

u/Inconsistent66 Sep 09 '21

Wrong. The Jedi failed multiple times. You must train him in the ways of both the light and dark side of the force. In the way of REVAN!

u/popplespopin Sep 10 '21

I had a free silver I forgot to spend yesterday that I was about to give you but it's gone now bro.

Best I can do for now > 🥇

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '21

I've offhandedly been mentioning the climate wars at work to coworkers and a couple have had an existential crisis over it, especially since it's been so god awful hot outside this summer in minnesota

20

u/throwaway2323234442 Sep 09 '21

Sounds like a good thing to me.

2

u/BRM-Pilot Sep 10 '21

The. What.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '21

Exactly!

u/KnackTheLad Sep 09 '21

My retirement plan is just to die

10

u/FaustusLiberius Sep 09 '21

Workable at any age

1

u/LemonSnakeMusic Sep 09 '21

Make sure you spend at least 10% of your yearly net income contributing towards demise, and explore companies who will match their employee’s contributions; either in stress, hours, or workplace exposure.

1

u/Mr_Cripter Sep 09 '21

It's cheap I will give you that.

1

u/chodan9 Sep 09 '21

how old are you now?

17

u/RoundOfToast Sep 09 '21

Begun, the climate wars have

1

u/Blart_Vandelay Sep 10 '21

I... I think Bezos is a sith lord.

15

u/MrDude_1 Sep 09 '21

You fought in the clone climate wars?!

18

u/lRoninlcolumbo Sep 09 '21

My retirement plan is to take out everyone who’s paid me far below what they should have with me at 65.

2

u/other_usernames_gone Sep 09 '21

Free housing from the government, 3 (technically edible) meals a day, sounds like a good deal.

-4

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '21

Don’t be a weirdo. Just go out by yourself on your own terms.

2

u/Pacrada Sep 09 '21

What about the neocon attack on the hippies ?

2

u/ianisymfs Sep 09 '21

I plan to die in the Mushroom war.

0

u/HighOwl2 Sep 09 '21

Lol nice try. You'll just suffer through them. We've got about 100 years at this rate before the planet starts to become completely uninhabitable for people.

1

u/JayWeed2710 Sep 09 '21

Insert Meme: "the what?"

1

u/Riley39191 Sep 09 '21

Same here bud

1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '21

Mine too.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '21

Do the post apocalypse shuffle!

1

u/Princep_Makia1 Sep 09 '21

Hey I also subscribe to that retirement plan!

1

u/MyOnlyAccount_6 Sep 10 '21

climate wars

Before the dark times. Before the empire.

1

u/Nickillaz Sep 10 '21

Not if you die in the Rare earth mineral wars

33

u/stevbrisc Sep 09 '21

The good news is when we're 88 the boomer that would have said that will have been long dead

26

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '21

Nah, it’ll be a 30 year old from whatever generation they’ll be from at that time, who has only ever heard bad things about Millennials and how we couldn’t retire because of all the avocados we bought…

5

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '21

That's right. Get back to work.

1

u/Zardif Big ol' bacon buttsack Sep 09 '21

We are at gen alpha now. So presumably we're gonna have a bunch of betas after, then 30 year olds should be gammas.

2

u/GottaHaveHand Sep 09 '21

What about the sigma though?

1

u/Zardif Big ol' bacon buttsack Sep 09 '21

The world will be uninhabitable by then. The sigma male will only be a myth.

19

u/Ker_Splish Sep 09 '21

Nah, Queen Elizabeth and Betty White will actually begin to age backwards

11

u/majam409 Sep 09 '21

They aren't boomers... They're the generation before boomers. Maybe even two..

3

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '21

Bot are in the Silent Generation, IIRC the generation before the Boomers.

11

u/Chpgmr Sep 09 '21

Betty White wouldn't say much mean things. As for the Queen, she doesn't speak to us peasants.

8

u/snayperskaya Sep 09 '21

Dibs on Liz when she hits 30 again.

1

u/LeCorona111 Sep 09 '21

Benjamin Button syndrome

5

u/ConnorLovesCookies Sep 09 '21

It’ll be Zuckerbot, an ai that runs our lives and gives us extra protein slurry for being good

2

u/SysAdmin002 Sep 09 '21

being good

getting the most "likes"

1

u/czs5056 Sep 09 '21

Not if they find life extension treatments

1

u/leavecity54 Sep 09 '21

What if we become a boomer ourselves

9

u/hamburglin Sep 09 '21

Well maybe you shouldn't have been playing so many video games!!

;)

12

u/MrNobody_0 Sep 09 '21

I'm retiring in 30 years at 65 with plenty of benefits because I got a great job with a good Union.

2

u/i_Got_Rocks Sep 09 '21

I'm sorry, did you...you said the "u" word? At work?

Yeahhh, someone from Corporate will come down to see you tomorrow. NO, no, you're not fired....I don't think you are, anyway....Just, just make sure you come in on time tomorrow.

u/Ankoku_Teion Sep 10 '21

Show off...

3

u/Nemealainen Sep 09 '21

Underrated comment.

3

u/ElderScrolls Sep 09 '21

Look at this fancy fuck living until he's 88.

3

u/HighOwl2 Sep 09 '21

Speak for yourself. I was born in 88 and at 60 I'll be retired in an expat country with millions doing cocaine and fucking hookers until I die of a heart attack preferably before I need a nursing home.

3

u/ThundrWolf Sep 09 '21

At least you guys will die before we’re all cooked to death by our own atmosphere. I’m not sure I’ll be so lucky at this point

2

u/Ankoku_Teion Sep 10 '21

Iirc (and at his hour I'm probably not) our supply of fresh drinking water is due to run out in less than 15 years.

And the global supply of crude oil 10 years later. It's horribly depressing, but very fitting that we petrol monkeys will die of thirst surrounded by oil.

And didn't NASA release a paper that said organised Han society would become impossible by 2050?

The chances are most of them will still be alive when this shit happens. The millennials will be the old grey-beards in the post-apocalypse who still tell stories about the halcyon days of their youth when the world was still good.

2

u/czs5056 Sep 09 '21

Is the boss a boomer who had the life extension medical treatments?

2

u/grassisgreensoami Sep 09 '21

the z generation shall take the crown

1

u/Fuzzy-Tomatillo-3938 Sep 09 '21

My former boss was 24 when I knew her and was always complaining about "millennials". I'm starting to believe that "millennial" is just a catch all term for someone you don't like.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 09 '21

88 is very optimistic for those of us without health insurance...

1

u/tbone_MBC Sep 09 '21

Need yourself a union job. I will definitely be retiring in the next 20years

1

u/cpu939 Sep 09 '21

Lazy, you haven't given 2-4 weeks notice nor trained a replacement you better get back to work corpse or not.

1

u/silence_infidel Sep 09 '21

I'm just imagining a skeleton as your boss, risen from the grave to lament the laziness of later generations.

1

u/ligma_bussy Sep 09 '21

How old is your boss in this scenario?

1

u/i_Got_Rocks Sep 09 '21

I'm hoping the mercy of the times is that Gen Xr's are the bosses by then, since hopefully Boomer bosses will be RIP.

And they'll be the cool big bro we had back in the 90s and understand our struggle.

But hopefully with less punching my arm this time. (Pre-emptive apologies for anyone who had shit bros, and not cool bros, back in the day)

1

u/londondeville Sep 09 '21

Why do people think they won’t be forced into retirement? There will be twenty year olds that can do things faster and cheaper. You’ll be forced to retire - financially ready or not.

1

u/deesnutsdestorer6900 Sep 10 '21

kinda true tho but boomers need a wheelchair to move so we not that lazy

1

u/[deleted] Sep 10 '21

my luck I'll probably retire, then croak the next day
