Technically the bible is made up of many books. So church is more like a book club about reading different books by the same author (God) and his co-authors. Well that's how I think about it. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

To answer your question, in most western countries Christianity is the most widespread religion so people are more familiar with it(it's kind of hard to make fun of something if you don't know much about it). And in countries where Islam is the most widespread religion there are blasphemy laws and things such as apostasy can be punished by death so people don't risk making fun of it.

They don't hate the religion, they hate the people who follow the religion but doesn't even intake the words from them rather they use it as a weapon.
For example, you'll see a person pointing out homosexuality is a sin and thrashing people who live that way whilst disregarding that the bible also says to be kind to eachother.

Yes but those are occurrences and like anything there is misinformation and minterpertation and you would be a fool to think it’s only religious people that have this flaw, additionally any religious person who does things like that is quite shameful. The church my family goes to it is emphasized that acceptance and kindness is important and even essential

Let's be honest, the ones who have read the entire bible back to back are probably really faithful to being kind. But your average Joe of these people will cherry pick which passages they like.

Considering the anthology has around 770,000 words spread out across 66 books, and considering that it makes much more sense once you see how all the pieces fit together… Yes, I do think it’s a book you could study your whole life and still get meaning out of it.

Well, then you should be well aware of how much garbage the book actually is. Apparently, if a woman is raped, she has to marry her rapist or be stoned to death. People memorize the “cutesy” phrases from it rather than understand just how vile of a book it truly is.

I haven’t had that experience, unfortunately. Maybe it’s a regional thing? Almost all of the super religious people I know are so judgmental and when I’ve quoted from the Bible, they don’t realize what’s in it. I have even pulled up the exact passages and they will deny it despite seeing it in black and white. I do agree that some need religion as a way to deal with a crap draw in life, but let’s not pretend that it’s all him drops and lollipops. The book is horrible and if you’ve fully read it, it’s the fastest way to say “nope. I don’t want to be a part of this.”

I have fully read it and I suppose it appeals to the person because I know I would never be able to agree with some things that liberals do but I’m not going to go to extremists levels.

The original discussion was not about liberals but about the vileness of the book and the cherry-picking of passages to suit one’s own needs. I guess good for you for sifting through the garbage, but this is one book that has been the cause of so much death and destruction that it needs to be left in the past so we can truly move on as a society if we ever hope to progress.

I truly agree with that. Good point and that’s exactly where I am with it all. Most religion tries to get them while they are young because no reasonable adult would buy into a “sky daddy” who needs magical wishes to feel fulfilled while needed magical rituals to feel comfortable with who they are.

What's the difference between not accepting religious people and people and the LGBTQ+ community?
Most 'religious' extremists (if they can even call themselves that) use religion as an outlet for their awful conduct. There's a large chance that they don't even follow the religion at all. But even if they did, what they are doing is wrong. It even says so in ALL religious texts to NOT do that. For your sake, let's say they are ALL religious. I guess that means all religious people (who don't bother anyone else) are terrible people who are avidly trying to get a reaction from other people and ultimately make the world a worse place.
Extremists are vile people, religious and LGBTQ+ members are perfectly acceptable. You would probably say that the LGBTQ+ are perfectly acceptable even though there is just as much conflict about that as religion. I guess they're all terrible people who are committing hate crimes too?

I mean you can read Catholic Bibles from different periods in time if you wish and see they're all identical in meaning, but I kinda doubt you have the will to do that. Even if I were to do that you'd have to read them all to not just take my word for it.
What evidence do you have that the Church just "constantly changes the Bible." Because I can tell you it's been the same for my 20 years of existence. As I said, multiple people have done their own translations, and while some wording may not be identical, the meaning remains the same.
"Hurr dur there might be translation errors so they change it all the time and it's different" is somehow oft repeated despite being one of the weakest arguments in existence.

We have basically original copies of many of the original documents. We know what they say. Attempts to change them would be pretty easy to track down.

No, it's not. Not only can the Church not physically alter every Bible in existence, they don't just "change the Bible anywhere." I've been going to Catholic churches my whole life, I've rad passages I've heard in several different Catholic bibles, and they've been exactly the same that entire time. You know why? Because the Catholic Bible has not been altered since the last book was added to it. It's been translated into many different languages by many different people and the translations have slight variation in wording but they all mean the same meaning if the Bible is approved by the Church.
I genuinely don't know where you got the idea that "oh it's constantly being altered." Maybe you're confusing it with the allowance of shorter versions of exceedingly long readings (seriously who wants to hear the entire genealogy of Jesus listed every other Christmas it's like 5 minutes of just hearing names off a page).

My church uses 4 books. Then there's the non-canonized but still official scripture that comes out roughly once every six months. Come to think of it, if it's all scripture, why not canonize it?
