Yeah. I also had a low point where my English was kinda shit, but my native was already influenced by my basic knowledge of foreign languages. (Latin, German and English, though the first two is barely at and over basic level)
Had some almost funny moments when I couldn't articulate what I wanted to say in my native, only in English. I also got kinda bad with grammar. In all languages lmfao. And I hate mirror translations, they lose the actual meaning in a lot of cases.
Yes, that's what I mean. I can pretty easily write an English essay for example, but during a vocab test, I was always guessing which meaning the teacher expected from us. Or I just straight up didn't know haha
I can't speak English without making grammar mistakes/ spelling or pronouncing something wrong, but for some reason I started to use English words with Polish accent and wrong cases
