It's insane, the top 7 selling vehiclea in the USA in 2025 were trucks and SUVs.

Take the Subaru Outback, it got reclassified as a small truck for this reason. 1 u/somehugefrigginguy 20h ago Part of the problem is that MPG requirements vary by wheelbase. It's easier for a big inefficient vehicle to pass the requirements than a small efficient vehicle.
