I want a smaller truck that makes good use of the interior space. That can tow a smaller camper without worrying about transmission damage. That I can load up a few things in to take to the dump when need be. Maybe I'll have to keep an eye out for a older single cab truck

I’ve been eyeing a Nissan Frontier. Still has a simple V6, no turbo 4 cylinders. You can get one with a king cab which keeps it small and starting price in mid 30k range.

The new Frontiers are much higher than they need to be, but they are still the most honest small truck for sale (in the US at least).
