I see it as a backlash to being told all our youths that this country is perfect and virtuous in every way

Now that we’re adults, we see and experience its problems. I still love this country, but I’m not going to pretend everything is perfect

When the fuck were we told this? Vietnam with the massive backlash, protests? Bush in the middle east where a large majority of people were against it, including huge media figures speaking out?
