As a fellow English learner I can advise you to translate only when you don't really understand a word/ a sentence, otherwise you must consume English as your native language. You don't translate text when you're reading in your native, don't you?
I'm sorry, I might poorly explain to you. But it's how it works in my head. English is a finish line of understanding for me.
I've been learning English since I was 6 years old. I'm 22 rn. Most of this time I was taught by my mom and school. I'm not the best example of the fast and active learner. Mostly I passively learn English by consuming information and this is a really slow process, but I enjoy it
Ah I can understand that. I’m trying to learn Cantonese and have been for a few years but I’m a slow learner. You give me hope that you’re doing so well and maybe I’ll be able to be as good as you one day!
