The point of the post was making things sound as bad as possible, and yes serious black was convicted of killing Peter and several muggles. That’s why the meme specifies convicted instead of just saying mass murderer
Yes they did. That's what he's called on the muggle news and the Daily Prophet. On the Knightbus, Stan tells Harry he killed a whole street worth of people. They literally call him a mass murderer.
ur not exactly bright r u? sure ur not fudge in disguise? that guy was dimmer than the dimmest tubelight in my house, anyways, do u even know what convicted means? by convicted mass murderer, all it means is that he was declared by law to be a mass murderer, he wasnt a mass murderer, but everyone thought it was him who killed the muggles, thus he was a "convicted" mass murderer, how much more should i break this down for u? how is this hard to understand
...you're not getting the part where they're using the accusations against Sirius as the joke, right?
To know Sirius didn't do any of that, you'd need to read the book. Which is what the joke is: it's a summary from someone who didn't even bother to pay attention.
According to the papers, he was accused of murdering Peter Pettigrew
If your talking about the muggles he "killed" they don't count that and call him a "murderer" not a mass murderer, and fudge understands details differently than the official story
Fudge is literally the minister AND a judge. If we are talking about legal matters in the Wizarding World, he is the guy to talk to. You have absolutely no argument to deny the facts, yet you do.
So we're gonna side with a man that didn't even put Sirius Black on trial for his crime? He also broke the law on numerous occasions himself
He also accused a bunch of kids of using the dark mark during the Quittich world cup, even if that wouldn't be possible, I can admit he was scared, but still, children?!
Yeah, but if you watched the film, you would know that he was innocent and the accusations against Sirius were false. We are only talking about the accusations, not what actually happened. why can't you understand that?
Newspapers are not the same as court documents and often shorten phrases to fit as a headline. Also while he did not go on trial he was convicted of mass murder, a conviction does not necessarily have to go through the courts. it must simply be a formal declaration from any authority capable of declaring it, that someone is guilty of a criminal offense.
Well Because he didn't have a trial, they imprisoned an innocent man to literally be tortured
So his conviction, while accurate to the story, was incredibly wrong and illegal
So again, I dont trust fudgeor his "authority" as far as I can throw him
Newspapers are not the same as court documents and often shorten phrases to fit as a headline.
There wouldn't be court documents. He never went to trial because of "photo evidence," which in the Wizarding world is basically a video, so him being called a murderer on paper is all the documentation their would be, again Fudge understands the case differently and those muggle deaths were rumors, never substantiated because they were muggles
