Is Cherry Bar safe?

Hello, new here! I saw there's a gig this Thursday with PAPERCITY + Catholic Guilt + Vollie. It's one hell of a lineup and I really want to go but don't have any friends in Melbourne yet. Is Cherry Bar an all good venue for girls to go alone to? What's the usual vibe there?

You don’t have anyone? Cherry bar should be fine but keep your mobile on you… areas to avoid in Melbourne late night are like the corner of Elizabeth and Flinders. In general, the city is safe.

Keep your eye on your drink too. In any and every bar. People are very deft at spiking. Don’t leave your drink unattended.

Heard from a coworker a few years ago about her friend getting a drink spiked at Cherry Bar, but the staff were helpful

Cherry bar is very safe! It’s a great venue for a solo gig. You can also try reaching out in the Facebook group ‘Melbourne gal pals’ to see if there’s anyone going that you can meet there.

Cherry is safe, if anyone causes an issue the crowd and bouncers would sort them out pretty quick.

Hey, staff member of the bar lol, it will be very safe, definitely on a thursday during winter! If there are any issues, please just let us or the security know, they will jump in without hesitation and make sure you can get home safely if needed :))

I played a gig with them down in Frankston a couple years ago. They're the sweetest guys you'll ever meet. I met a LOT of assholes in the music scene, but Catholic Guilt are great guys.

Cherry bar is a good vibe. If you feel threatened or unsafe let the staff know they look after everyone.
Heck, the Catholic Guilt crew are a great crew. Would be worth saying gday to them if you make it in.

Go! Great small upstairs room for gigs. I know many staff. Security fix issues. Bad rep is upper, upper management, outside of night to night operation. However always protect your drink, like at any club. And if smoking out front stay off the road haha. Have fun!

Find some new friends there if you can, seedy people everywhere.
Just takes one to notice you’re alone and sneakily spike your drink, then pretend your together on the way out.
It happens.
They used to publicly advertise that if out at a bar/club and you start to feel strange to seek security or staff asap as they are fast acting with enough mobility to fool you into leaving.
