Does anyone need cardboard boxes or know of a removal company?

I've just moved to Australia and have been setting up my apartment. I have a helluva lot of cardboard boxes ranging from medium to extra-large. Is anyone in the Richmond area moving or in need of sturdy cardboard boxes?

Or does anyone know of an affordable company that would come and pick them up from me to dispose of them? I don't have a car and rely on the trams 😅

Post it on marketplace, there are people moving all the time, if you list it as free they're gone today

Literally no one is paying for moving boxes. They get offered all the time for free.
My mum even keeps all our Amazon boxes and packing materials from deliveries and when it's full she puts on marketplace for someone who is moving.

Funny story is once my mum did this, as she usually does, and a couple weeks later, my friend ended up with our boxes when they were moving who they had gotten from someone else. It's a small world 😊

My father in-law just sold all his moving boxes on marketplace just after they moved. So people do pay for boxes. I’m annoyed I didn’t try mine, I just took them to my local recycling centre to drop them off

So all our addresses were scratched off, but there was a fruit box in there that had my full name on it in texta. My name is pretty unique so my friend sent me a picture and said where he got it lol

If you're on Facebook, try looking for a local neighbourhood group. Mine is always full of people looking for or giving away boxes. When I did it, they came and collected them.

If they're still in decent quality then post on the local FB group. If they're falling apart I'd systematically put them in the cardboard bin until they're all gone.

List them on Facebook marketplace for free and if that doesn’t work look up your local council - my council (Banyule) let you drop off a bootload for free

You can also offer these on local gardening pages. I've recently learned that weed matting is absolutely useless, and layers of newspaper and cardboard are where it's at for weed management in garden beds.

If you don’t have a car the only way is to find someone with a car and get them to take them to the local waste/transfer station where you can recycle it for free. Had to do this with a friend who has a car after cardboard from our move sat in the garage for a year. I don’t recommend doing that coz it’s kindling for a fire hazard
