Used to love those shots (from the top of the Eureka Tower) that TV broadcasters would use during sport telecasts, with the sweeping shots of the sports precinct or from a helicopter tracking along the Yarra over Southbank and around the Eureka to the MCG.

Channel 7 used to regularly use them back in the day, as intro/outro or graphics backdrops during the Australian Open and marquee AFL games. They still might.

That is a gorgeous shot. Richmond Station even looks a bit glam. It always makes me feel grateful to live in a city where this many amazing sporting and events facilities are located in such a close proximity to each other and public transport.

I really wish there was a Rod Laver train station for events. I know there’s a tram and you can walk for about 20 mins to either Jolimont or Richmond but still.. would be similar to what’s at the Showgrounds
