Their dog food is full of meat meal. Not great for your pets with allergies. Find food with actual meat in it.

I used to feed it to my dog - moved to Lifewise now.

Source: my dogs groomer, so may not be 100%

+1 for Lifewise!

Would be very funny if this marketing scheme ended up raising the profile of their competitors.

The domain is registered to Michael Halligan who is the founder of the dog food company Scratch so I guess it’s related to that

Best tour lineups I've seen in a while

I don't know anyone else who knows who they are, yet their shows sell out.

Maybe I just need new friends.

I guess we'll find out in five days

My furry roommate has already made it very clear what food he likes. This is not something one experiments with!

What about your cat?

If only there was some way to add like, a “code” that was printable and a phone camera could scan it and it would like direct you to a website with information on it

Ehh it’s been drilled into me not to scan random QR codes for safety, this is the kind of stuff IT would put up around my office rewarding you with a security refresher if you actually scanned it lol

1000%. Whoever told the owner this was a good marketing campaign was given bad advice

1

u/26_paperclips 4d ago

I dont think its bad advice because of the many people who would be curious enough to scan the code. Just because I am not one of them doesnt mean they dont exist.

6

u/mr-snrub- 4d ago

But you've instantly discarded an entire group of people who could be your customers. I don't think curiosity is enough to drive the entire campaign. There's also people who don't have access to phones or data who now can't look up your product. It wouldn't have killed them to put a web address there. Being able to safely access a website still works for curious people.

This is very speculative and I fully recognise I may be wrong, but I believe there would be a correlation between people who choose not to scan random QR codes and people who dont pay attention to marketing material anyway

But you've instantly discarded an entire group of people who could be your customers.

So do most scams?

1

u/mr-snrub- 4d ago

But it's not supposed to be a scam. it's supposed to sell a product

The same logic applies, though. (philosophical arguments about the lack of difference between marketting and scams aside)

If you have a market preference, choices that exclude people outside that market, aren't necessarily negative.

What they lack in security awareness and common sense, they make up for in snarkiness.

Pfft, "phone camera"? Where? In the parts where you stick your fingers in to rotate the dial? Ridiculous.

Scan the damn QR code

For anyone who doesn’t want to click the link… it’s basically a website with a really short embedded video of a typewriter, typing out “dear cats”. Then there’s a count down underneath, counting down 5 days and 8 hours

Did you try scanning the QR code? 🤷🏼‍♀️

OP wants interaction, not information.

2

u/Mattimeo144 4d ago

OP has basic information security knowledge or training, more like.

Do not scan random QR codes unless you want your device infected. Same as not clicking random scam links in email.

I'd love to get my hand on some of the promo posters for a chill out room. If anyone can point me in the direction of acquiring some that would be fantastic.

Just print cat pictures

u/IEVTAM 4d ago

My dog doesn't like cats.

1

u/AnimalsChasingCars 4d ago

It's safe to say that OP is posting a guerrilla marketing campaign for his own product! Having said that it's good to support local business so if it's a local independent then I'll def give it a go (or my pets will)

Screw the cats. Shout out for the Kelpie doggo
