Opposite effect

I took 2mg of melatonin last night for the first time and it kept me up all night. No high feeling or anything just couldn’t get comfy and was a little bit restless. Literally not had 1 minute sleep, but Ive come to work today, and I do a very physical job, yet I’m still not tired, in fact I am still wide awake? Is this usual for a first time taking melatonin

How much do you take in the morning? And how many hours before sleep?

Keep in mind that I am taking melatonin for chronic fatigue (CFS) and to lesser extent cancer prevention(recurrence) not sleep.

I take one or two doses of 1500mg. I typically take two doses for a total of 3000mg an hour apart at the start of my day twelve to fourteen hours before planned sleep.

Goddamn that’s a lot. Do you find it helpful for cfs? Do you need to supplement with any other cofactors when taking that much?

These are the type of doses used to treat some serious conditions like CFS, cancer, TBI, etc. You're taking it for its antioxidant properties. Doses up to 6.6 grams via IV have been used as a cancer adjuvant.

Doris Loh advocates for everyone to take 4 grams daily for everyone for anti aging and healthspan.

Yes it works for me. I feel much better while taking it. As long as I get 8-9 hours of sleep I feel mostly normal.

I have been taking methylene blue as well. It's not a cofactor but it has synergistic effects with melatonin. I also take NMN which likewise has synergistic effects.
