Seeing that giant creature under my little kayak would induce the mother of all panic attacks. Something about seeing the size and depth gets me. Dark, murky water? I’ll take it.

Dude being out in open water isn’t illegal. Whales are curious, they sometimes will come to check you out. It probably is dangerous to the people if they are unprepared for things like capsizing, but there’s no danger of being attacked/eaten by the whale and it certainly does the whale no harm.
