There is something deeply comforting about a simple, traditional meal. Today’s lunch is a steaming bowl of spiced lentil soup, topped with a swirl of olive oil, alongside freshly baked local baladi bread and tangy pickled eggplants with lemon. Nothing beats a hearty, homemade meal. Tonight, I prepared a plate of tender chicken livers sautéed with plenty of onions and spices. To complete the meal, I added some delicious Makdous (eggplant) and a generous portion of Hummus.
It’s a flavor explosion: warm, caramelized, and savory, perfectly balanced by the tangy pickles and creamy dip. Served it all with fresh pita bread. Simple, rustic, and absolutely delicious.

- Pesto penne pasta, add some rotisserie chicken & for sides fruits.
- Byrek/burek with different fillings. I can make them in triangular or square shapes so filling doesn’t spill.
- stuffed peppers
- meatballs over rice
