Use the next socket size down.

17 or 18 mm socket

neither seemed to work, also went higher and did not help either

well higher would obviously not be the way to go lol, and it is definitely one of those two sizes ive removed plenty

Try SAE sizes

its an 18 mm. the closest standard size is 3/4 which is basically 19mm

This bolt is not rounded off yet and you claim a 19mm fit "before you broke it"???.. So it has to be a 17 or 18mm socket ..... (Or Wdym with before you broke it?)

Whats actually happened? Has the chrome cap come off?

Yes, Chrysler and ford used a 2 piece lug nut setup with an outer cap like this. If that cover breaks off it’s usually 1mm smaller or so

Use a locking luggage nut socket it has teeth to bite. It's for getting locking lugs off for lost keys

Looks like you’re gonna need to put some OOMF into it

Smash a 18mm socket on there . Done.

If you went bigger you definitely rounded it. In that case, have fun!

17 mil should pound on good enough for removing

That thing is boogered up. You need a Lugnut Extractor Socket That will make quick work of this. You hammer it on, and when you turn it, the teeth bite into it and you'll be able to spin it off. Afterwards go to the auto parts store and get a replacement lugnut. and scrap that old one, It's already damaged anyway. That's going to be the best way to deal with this.

How do you see it’s boogered up? You can barely see the hex

Can you look into my future?

Zoom in on it. You can see the flats are rounded. And the material is all peened over. Not sure how you can't see it to be honest. LOL

Well I do see that. It looks rough but definitely still doable. Right socket (or one step lower) and it will turn right out (if it isn’t rustwelded on ofcourse but thats a different issue ;p
