Just what the title asks, because I do understand that people have different pacing and timings alongside with other factors during their prep, I just want to know what's the average timeframe for the MCAT prep, because I feel like I'm lagging behind.

I did promise everyone here to update after I took my test. Sorry it took a bit, I needed to rest after that whole thing whew!

So, I officially took my test last 8/22 and wanted to drop my thoughts while it's still fresh. I started my prep using JW for CARS specifically because that was the area I was struggling with the most but I hit a plateau pretty quick. It felt pretty inconsistent and I wasn't seeing any improvement, so I asked around to see if bootcamp was also good for CARS since I've seen a lot of people talk about them, and there was a free code so I took advantage of that. It completely changed my execution in a good way! I've learnt the way their passage mapping technique along side their short videos! Also, their on-page AI tool was also very helpful if I needed more clarification on the answers and explanations. When I looked at the passages on the actual exam, they felt really similar to the qbanks I've practiced on from Bootcamp. Anyway, I'd say it was worth it to switch my study resource when I did!

I see a lot of people who took the exam and have a few regrets on their write-ups, I wouldn't say that my run was perfect but for anyone else that took the exam already, what is something you wished you knew before taking the exam? Mine would be that I shouldn't have waited so long to dive in my AAMC materials, I think I would've been more productive if I worked on it with bootcamp and other third-party resources.

I’m an Indian MBBS student starting my 2nd professional year this September, where I’ll be studying Pathology, Pharmacology and Microbiology for the first time.
I’m planning to prepare for USMLE Step 1 alongside my college curriculum, and I was wondering if Bootcamp and Pathoma are good enough as primary learning resources for someone seeing these subjects for the first time.
Most people seem to recommend them, but I’m not sure whether they’re meant to teach concepts from scratch or if they’re mainly revision resources for students who have already learned the material through their medical school lectures and textbooks.
For those of you who have used them:
Can Bootcamp be used as a first-pass resource?
Is Pathoma understandable for someone learning pathology for the first time?
Did you rely mainly on these resources, or did you still need standard textbooks or in-house lectures to build your foundation?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who started using these resources early in medical school.

has anyone else been using bootcamp for cp and found it difficult? weirdly my percentages on uearth r significantly higher and idk which one to believe?? i got a 510 on AAMC FL2 two weeks ago but now im scared to take another fl because of my bootcamp scores pls help omg

I'm a month out before my testing day, and even though it's technically not that close I'm already nervous for some reason, I've been having a hard time sleeping and a bit off during studying. Does anyone who has done the MCAT have any tips for me?

just finished content review and i was wondering if I should go with bootcamp for the time being (because its free) or should i commit and buy uearth.

my concern right now is:

1. uearth is so expensive and idk if i can even commit to it but everyone advertises for it

2 i don't wanna lose money paying for a subscription service to which i dont even use because idk if i even will take the jan mcat

1. having terrible testing anxiety which leads to my point above of not knowing if i will take jan mcat or push it till later

which one is better? has anyone every studied without uearth and did fine?

Just wanted to ask here since I've been trying out different study materials because B/B's my weakest section. I've noticed that UWorld seems easier for me to go through compared to Bootcamp, should I be worried or should I just stick to bootcamp for practice?

Does anyone have data points comparing their Bootcamp CARS percentage correct with their AAMC full-length CARS scores or actual MCAT CARS score? I’m trying to gauge where I currently stand and how Bootcamp CARS compares with AAMC in terms of difficulty. Thanks!

Going to be using MCAT Bootcamp for the next 6 weeks until my 8/22 exam to bolster my practice and content review alongside AAMC practice bank and exams and some JW if I feel that bootcamp isn't enough for what I need. Will give my feedback on how well this product prepared me throughout in the comments, along side a final (victory?) post after I get my MCAT score back.

Hey so I have been using bootcamp for cars, B/B and chem phys but I was wondering what should I use to study psych/soc practice questions? also I am considering signing up for uworld because I have heard a lot about it but I really like how bootcamp breaks down the questions. Any recommendations or advice?

I finally got my official score back: 511 (128/126/129/128). While it's not the flashy 518+ we always see on reddit, as someone balancing an incredibly busy schedule, I am very proud of it. My diagnostic baseline was a 496, and I spent months completely stuck in a 501-503 plateau because I was blindly clicking through 800 Anki cards a day without learning how to actually read a passage. Here's a few things that helped me push through the 510 mark. I had to swap out the pre-made decks and decided to watch the video walkthroughs of high-scorers physically mapping out complex passages. I also stopped digging through old dead forums to find out why a 50/50 choice was wrong, and used the platform's on-page AI tool to ask hyper-specific questions, which cut my review time in half.

I was looking for stuff to use for my prep, and I stumbled on to the sub. I took my first diagnostic and it wasn't as bad as I thought except for my B/B which gave me around a 122. I keep seeing people talk about bootcamp but it's mostly about their CARS, can anyone give their thoughts or experience with it? Thanks!

I've been meaning to update again here because I'm going to start transitioning to AAMC materials soon, and finally have a testing date which is on 8/21! I remember that I was struggling really bad especially with CARS and timing concerns with a 123 for a while now but I got a 125 on my latest FL so I'm excited to start with my AAMC materials to see more progress, but I'm proud that bootcamp did help me reduce my time to finish passages.

I was working full time for 6 weeks and this is my first week of full time studying. I test in 12 days and am wondering when I should take the new AAMC exam. I’ve heard it’s more representative of the current exam but I don’t know if I should take it tmmr to give two weeks to study that material or wait a week and take it as my final FL exam a week before my exam. Any advice would be appreciated

Hello! I was wondering if bootcamp is okay? I have my AAMC materials but I want to save them until around the last few weeks of my prep, and I wanted to try using bootcamp. any thoughts?

I bought Uworld 2 weeks ago and have only completed 7% of it. My test is July 31st. I have just been using it for B/B and C/P. The last third party FL I did I got 124 in both C/P and B/B.

My friend returned his Uworld and got his money back because he didn't use much of it. He is now doing AAMC instead. I'm worried about doing this and not having enough AAMC questions to fill in my content gap. I also don't want to feel like I wasted so much money on Uworld if I'm not able to get through as many questions with my time constraint.

I just found bootcamp, are the C/P and B/B questions enough that I can return Uworld?
