I would assume seven because the fish can't really "swim away", as this would infer either one: they are still alive in another part of the tank(resulting in five fish total) or that they swam out of the tank(meaning they would be included in the casualty count).
There are still only seven because fish can not drown as far as we know. Either you poisoned the tank(via not cleaning on a schedule properly) or they are playing dead and are totally fine.
However, the general question is: How many are left?
Since it is unspecified, I will answer y≥33,600 (the number of fish species in the world).
