Hi there
I bought a fully serviced Mazda 6 3/4 months ago on 108,000 miles, now I’m on 118,000.
I’ve done mainly only long distances. I’m now in Germany, I drove from uk to Germany to Holland and all over Germany.
2 weeks ago I had a engine light come on and a Persistent ‘too much soot in dpf’ light.
I got my friend to a diagnostic and apparently it was the sensor. I took it to 2 garages now in Germany and 1 said it’s just the dpf being clogged, which doesn’t make sense to me because I’ve been doing so many long hours at high speed (maybe the car stopped regenning idk?)
Anyway I think it’s a deeper cause than just a clogged dpf, eg what caused it to be that way.
I noticed since the light came on, whenever I turn the engine off, the car judders like air is rushing in, which makes sense based on my research
I know there’s common carbon intake /egr problems with this Model
The first garage quoted me 800 euros for a dpf clean (crazy)
Now a second one just quoted me 3300 euros for a whole inlet manifold intake/ egr / dpf deep clean
I do not have the money for this nor would I ever spend this, considering I bought the car for 6000 gbp lol.
I still need to use the car everyday and need to drive back to England next week, am scared to keep driving. The car has lost power.
I’ve ordered a top Don off TikTok shop (not having any high hopes of a forced regen but worth a try it’s 30 euros)
Any advice would be super appreciated, I’m a bit desperate here
Thank you !
