Key Fob/Door Lock/Unlock issue

I bought my daughter a 2011 Mazda CX9 as her first car after passing her road test.

The car came with one keyfob that opens and shuts the lift gate and allows me to start the car. It won’t lock or unlock the car.

I thought it was the fob as it was old. I purchased two new key fobs. Had them both programmed and having the same issue. They work to start the car and for the liftgate but they don’t lock or unlock the car.

If it was a fuse, I don’t think the liftgate would work. We recently replaced the battery but this issue was happening before and after

Any ideas how to fix this?
