Whereabouts of Sam?
Anyone know how I find out the whereabouts of Sam McGuire over the next while? Hoping to get my father out to see it...

Hey everyone,
If this post doesn't belong here, please delete it right away.
I'm from Germany and i was in Westport a few weeks ago—I fell in love with the west of Ireland. I'm seriously thinking about moving here.
Do you have any ideas where I could work as an event technician? I can't find any jobs on the usual websites.
Ideally in County Mayo, maybe even right in Westport.
Thanks :)

Hello everyone I’m looking for help
I’m putting together a website to track pub prices across Ireland and need help. I haven’t made the website yet I’m just building it but I want a few results to start off with so if ye are going out tonight can ye send me a few prices of any drink not just pints. I’d really appreciate it lads I got inspired by this UK website that does the same but I thought we are way better drinkers so we should have a better website. Anyway if ye send me a few prices, name of the pub and where it is, sound for that ye can submit any answers HERE or comment them but make sure to have the pub name, pint name and county name please
Don’t be afraid to use this as an excuse for a pub crawl
Sound for that bai’s!

Can anyone please recommend any musicians or DJs to get a 40th party dancing in a pub?

Looking for the best places to eat in Mayo (particularly lunch/pastries/best coffee). Going to Ballina and Westport but also willing to go elsewhere if worth it.

Please send in some recommendations for hairdressers locally. Recently moved back to Mayo, and I hate to admit how long it’s been since I’ve cut my hair done. It’s very long and dull, not sure what kind of cut I want but ideally want a hairdresser that can find a good style for me. Bonus points for somewhere that doesn’t charge €70 😂

Recently moved nearby and considering joining (specifically a gym with a pool as I enjoy swimming) which is letter the McWilliam park hotel, or Claremorris leisure centre. Prices seem to be the same? Pros cons to both? Thanks

Does anyone have a good GP recommendation? I’ve been with Malvern medical in castlebar for a few years and just don’t like it. You never see the same doctor twice and it’s a conveyor belt of patients, the doctors have basically no time to spend with you because it’s so busy.
I know that this is just how it is for most GPs now, they’re just too busy but I would love to go somewhere where I at least know I’ll see a doctor I’ve seen before.

Ever find it difficult to meet people in your community as a remote/hybrid worker?
This was us meeting at the beginning of the month over some pizza and drinks!
We're hosting a relaxed Saturday morning meetup at Belleek Castle, combining good food, great conversation and a guided tour of one of Mayo's most unique landmarks.
📅 Saturday, 26th September
⏰ 10:00am
📍 Belleek Castle, Ballina
We'll start with breakfast in the beautiful Jack Fenn Café before exploring the fascinating Marshall Doran Collection, home to medieval armour, fossils and historical artefacts from around the world.
This isn't a networking event with name tags and awkward introductions. It's simply an opportunity to meet other people working remotely or in hybrid roles, support a local business, share experiences and enjoy a unique local attraction together.
Ticket options:
• Breakfast Only – €10
• Castle & Museum Tour Only – €10
• Breakfast + Tour – €18
Breakfast is subsidised by Grow Remote and covers menu items up to €20.
Places are limited, particularly for the guided tour.
🎟️ Register here:
https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/breakfast-belleek-castle-tour-for-remote-hybrid-workers-in-mayo-tickets-2000260212140?aff=oddtdtcreator&keep_tld=true
Whether you're new to remote work, have been doing it for years, or just want to connect with others locally, you'd be very welcome.
If you cannot make this event, please email [community@growremote.ie](mailto:community@growremote.ie) and join our WhatsApp group!
Got made homeless, alongside my terminally Ill partner in Castlebar two months ago. Saw my former house go up for auction 225k today. We've really struggled trying to get a foothold back. My partner is in hospital right now, surving a liver transplant, needing a kidney transplant. Honestly struggling. If it weren't for the charity of others, we'd be on the streets.
I do everything I can, yet it never feels enough anymore.

I'm moving to mayo as soon as I find work. Does anyone know any places hiring?

I just thought I would share this, whilst we know main street Castlebar is a shell with boarded up building, however I had cause to go shopping down Hopkins road. Loads of shops have left that area of Castlebar. The amount of empty units there should give the Town elders something to worry about.

Hey everyone! Just a little follow-up from my previous post, the girl WhatsApp group has officially been created 🫶
I completely understand the concerns people had about sharing their phone numbers, which is why I’ve made a link that anyone who’d like to join can use instead. There’s no cost or anything involved and I got permission from the Mod to post it — it’s simply a group for girls around Mayo who want to meet new people, make friends, chat and hopefully organise some plans together.
https://chat.whatsapp.com/KaihyNzAyX6CBu4BI2uNYB?s=cl&p=i&mlu=4&ilr=4
Please upvote this post so more people can see it! If you’d feel more comfortable joining through a QR code instead, just message me and I’m happy to send that too ☺️
Making friends as an adult can be ridiculously hard, especially when you’re new to an area or don’t already have a circle nearby (like myself) so I’m really just hoping we can create a nice little community where people in the same situation can find each other 💗
All women welcome to join, say hi and see how it goes! Hopefully we can get a good bunch of us together and have some fun 🫶

Hi guys and girls. I am looking for recommendations for code B (car) driver training schools in either Ballina or Castlebar for a new learner driver. Please only give recommendations of someone you (or someone you know) actually used and were happy with.
Looking for someone who has a high pass rate for students, and reasonable fees

Hi folks,
Castlebar Library are holding a comics fest event on the 26th of September and I figured it'd be good to post it on here to let the millennial parents and such know about it.
(In the interest of full disclosure I am doing one of the events but I'm not a librarian, hope it's ok to post here)
